It's not a narrative. Look at the roster 5 yrs ago. Now look at it. The team has 5 twenty goal scorers and multiple 30 goal scorers. Best top 4 d since 2006. Unfortunately they still have the former leaf coach, that's problem 1. The injuries have been nuts. No 2c, 2 or top 3 d out now. But if theyd gotten a Cassidy or a Trotz theyd be in a wildcard despite all the injuries. MEANWHILE no deep run for Toronto and then the Matthews watch starts. Enjoy that. Islanders fans will.

Bashing a team that will make the playoffs is a desperate attempt to deflect the lack of skill of the Senators. Excuse after excuse the Ottawa Senators will always be weak and feeble. It’s a sad day for any pro sports team to be outnumbered by the opposition teams fans in their own arena. We will have this same argument next year and for the next 5 years until the Senators move to a more supportive city. It’s sad.
