This couple will do good in any living room, with it's 4 power meters and scope tuner it will also be the most beautiful art in the room, even the original mona lisa, any other painting ore sculpture will not win from this set. Even apple, samsung, marantz now ore any other brand who make these modern things can't beat the looks of this set. And when we start talking about sound quality ....... we already now the answer wixch one will be the winner. Thank you Mr. Saul Marantz for making these beautiful things for us.....
This set have a dutch owner who is a collector. He don't sell, I already tried that.

I am so very glad my friend gave me a 4140 for free. It was in his closet for over ten years. Didn't know the quality or value of this beautiful amp. Thanks for the video..

I owned a Marantz 120B tuner for many years-beautiful piece of equipment,wonderful performer,and very rare today-especially with it's green 3" scope (instead of the smaller blue scope) 4-stage ceramic Butterworth filters,and quality construction

i am lucky enough to have bought a 4140 new, have bought and used many much more expensive amps, am back using the 4140 now, brilliant amp, if you get a chance to buy one, grab it quickly, it is a true classic and well worth spending money on. Tim Chase.

I just discovered the 4140 a few days ago after being on a vintage amplifier kick for several months now. I agree its Valhalla, perfect sentiment for me, at least in terms of styling. The Quad meters are just bad ass. Thanks for the review.

+vintage stereo I'm on the hunt now :) Do you recall what speakers he was using? I'm guessing they need to be matched for best sound?

Jefferson Douglas the guy is a collector and his room was full and therefore no place for speakers. he used only very small speakers on top of his shelfs. I advised him to buy a custom made switching board were he could connect all his amps and receivers on so he would only need 1 set of speakers but i believe those switching boards are hard to find, i talk about switching boards who can handle at least 24 units.

Yes, but I would think the switch boxes could still be found. For me, I'd want to fully show what these receivers are capable of, but yes there are always some compromises.

Had een tijdje terug al een 4140 op marktplaats gekocht maar die 120b is echt niet aan te komen, en zeker niet als een multi voltage unit. Maar ik heb er eindelijk eentje weten te kopen, zojuist een deal,gesloten met iemand uit Australie notabene. Ben al meer dan een jaar op zoek naar een betaalbare 120b, hopelijk krijg ik hem gauw heelhuids binnen. Maar hij gaat zeker goed verpakt worden. Bedankt voor je review van deze set.

I want to try get 4 pieces maybe and get a nice vintage corner into my living room. And since I own a 2250b .... For sure the 2250b isnt small though... But for now an amplifier like 4140 and a maybe a pickup and another power amp maybe will look good. Maybe after a while I should change the 2250b with just a radio unit ...

Hi man, I have one of these set, but I haven't have the tubes signal at left. Maybe I am wrong about tuner model Mine maybe 120 Only.. I Love the osilator tube at left. 😘

heb hier nog 3 receivers in tassen staan, geen zin nog gehad er iets mee te doen, druk gehad met andere dingen....heb nog een 2226 een kenwood kr5200 die 2250b die ik gister heb gehaald, en dan heb ik nog een 2216 maar die is wel al helemaal schoongemaakt en stond ook al op mp maar is geen interesse voor, te mooi weer om stereo te kopen denk ik

moet ook nog tweeters overzetten in magnats zero2, die tweeters heb ik eergistere binne gehad, orginele tweeters.. en ik moet nog 2 msp110 vanb maganats repareren, maar weet iet waar ik die witte blokjes moet kopen die zijn doorgebrand

How are they interconnected so that the amp varimatrix knob changes show up on the scope?

vintage stereo That is the best Amp ever I still have mine purchased in 1976 and the sound is to die for. It is true quad so I have it hooked up to control my front and rear speakers and an Onkio 5.1 to control my sub center and additional speakers

Hi there and thanks for the info. I would like to ask your opinion about .... I own a marantz 2250B and recently I bought an amp 4140 in order to use the 2250 as pre amp and the 4140 as main amp. What do you think? Also ... I am thinking to get a power amplifier as well as a pickup in order to habe a nice set in my living room.... Please give me your opinion. Thank you in advance Regards

I realy can't help you, iI dont't know. Is the amp from the 2250b to small? 2x50 watt is much i think

in je dromen hahaha, deze kost echt veel meer, maar als je er een voor 150 kan vinden , direct doen.
