Nice vid bro. I have the 40n and I always thought that the amplifier section was identical between 40n and 50. The 40n has 2 DAC modes, I don't know about the cd50. Mode 1 has a more warm sound to it and and mode 2 can be described as.. cleaner/clearer highs maybe, less roll-off. I wonder what the setting was. Maybe you picked up that difference too. Personally I like Mode 1 as it smoothes the highs of the RF-7 mk1s nicely. In case anyone's wondering: The remote input-output is a handy Marantz (only?) feature that allows passthrough and daisy chaining remote signals when you place the device out of sight or in a closed cabinet. Also: fixed volume outputs -> integrated amp or preamp. Variable volume outputs -> power amp which do not have their own volume control.

@@homecinemaking397 Sir, if you are listening to a music CD and you pause it with volume -10, on Marantz amplifiers it is a very high volume range, you can hear a bit of electrical noise, does that happen to you? And on the phono source it is much louder...

@@ssj4austin this can be s few things. 1-bad isolation on wires and interconnects 2-bad earth on power 3-high noise floor on amp (what amp is it?)

@@ssj4austin should not damage the equipment bud get it tested ASAP. You can try filter the power thru a power conditioner or inverter.
