A destination on the southern coast of Espírito Santo (Brazil), framed by beaches, lagoons and cliffs.
Marataízes is known as the South Capixaba Pearl due to its famous production of pineapple pearl, which makes it renowned throughout the national territory.
The name "Marataízes" comes from the Tupi-Guarani, which means "water that flows into the sea".
The city attracts many tourists all year round.

In the many restaurants and kiosks on the central waterfront, the delights come to the tables in the form of moqueca or jambalaia - the typical dish is inspired by shrimp risotto and enhanced with gratin cheese.

BEACHES
One of the most accomplished types of tourism in the region is adventure tourism.
My favorite corner is the Siri Lagoon. Another tourist spot of the city is Boa Vista do Sul Beach. It is surrounded by hills, and ideal for windsurfing and fishing.
In addition to the beaches mentioned, Marataízes also has as option the following places: Praia Bacia das Turcas, Praia da Areia Preta, Praia da Barra, Praia dos Cações, Praia da Cidade Nova, Praia da Cruz, Praia da Lagoa Dantas, Praia da Lagoa Funda, Praia das Arraias and Praia do Pontal.
