The Battle of Marathon, (September 490 BC), in the Greco-Persian Wars, was a decisive battle fought on the Marathon plain of northeastern Attica in which the Athenians, in a single afternoon, repulsed the first Persian invasion of Greece.

fun fact: the reason the long run is called the "marathon", is because one greek, after the miraculous victory at marathon (the persians were technologically and numerically superior) ran all the way from marathon to athens, where he then screamed that the army won, collapsing to the ground right after, dying a (in my opinion) glorious death.

Still Temistocles participated actively in the battle and saw the Persians loose at least 3 major battles in the first and second invasion of Greece Who understood better than him and felt like anyone else the Greek passion and glory at its height?

World historical turning point. 11.000 thousand Athenian warrior versus 50.000 thousand Persian warrior (From huge ancient Persian Empire). But the greek's wins. Miltiades (The greek leader) brilliant strategist. Good job and nice artwork ! Next please Battle of Salamis. It is the second largest naval battle in world history.

10.000 Έλληνες (9.000 Αθηναίοι και 1.000 Πλαταιείς) ενάντια σε 30.000 Πέρσες και βοηθητικούς το πολύ (Το ιππικό των Περσών δεν συμμετείχε καθότι ο Μιλτιάδης σοφά περίμενε να αποβιβαστεί στα πλοία πριν επιτεθεί, αλλιώς οι Έλληνες πολύ λίγες ελπίδες θα είχαν να νικήσουν). Επιπλέον, ο Μιλτιάδης είχε περιορισμένη στρατηγική εμπειρία στ' αλήθεια και η μάχη κερδήθηκε από τους οπλίτες τους ίδιους κυρίως, όπως και η πλειοψηφία των Περσικών πολέμων. Επίσης η Σαλαμίνα ήταν μεγάλη μάχη, αλλά η "δεύτερη μεγαλύτερη ναυμαχία στην ιστορία" ούτε κατά διάνοια. Δεν είχε καν το μισό αριθμό πλοίων της ναυμαχίας της Ναυπάκτου (1571). Ναι το ξέρω ότι νιώθεις το πέος σου να σηκώνεται όταν σκέφτεσαι αυτά, γιατί για κάποιο λόγο νιώθεις ότι αντανακλώνται σε ΣΕΝΑ, αλλά μάθε και κανονική ιστορία ταυτόχρονα μια που μπαίνεις στον κόπο.

Sure! They lost all but one battle, and also lost control of Ionia after the Greeks there revolted again. The only significant thing they managed was to burn down Athens, but only after it was almost totally abandoned. Other than that, total victory!

@Sennacherib II 𖢗 yes iam persian from north of iran not all of us are white it doesent matter,people's skin color changes by the environment and weather,like achaemenid persians where something between white and black cuz there capital was in south of modern day iran which was a huge desert and persians arent really middle eastern they used to live somewhere in russia but they moved to middle east cuz of cold weather
