I'm also training for my first marathon! It's daunting and exciting at the same time. It's encouraging to hear your time goal. Sometimes I compare myself to other runners, and I feel all this pressure to run faster. It's so individual though, and like you said, there's not that many people who even finish a marathon at all! Good luck with your training and race :D

Keep it up Kris! I love your page! I’m 31 years old with a 10 year old son. I did the Houston half marathon in 2018 and 2019 always told myself I wouldn’t do a full. But like you I just want to be able to say I did it and challenge myself, you have me the extra push to decide to do the 2025 full marathon. I mostly weight lift but I have loved adding runs back into my weekly workouts. I’ll be 32 in March so I few kinda old watching you lol but I love your content so keep it coming!

Would you consider selling the whole document with your strength training?? I would save this so that one day I can also do a marathon!! I’m currently doing a half..

I like to use Huma+ (double electrolytes) Gels for my long runs. They aren't as thick as GU and have lots of electrolytes to help prevent cramping since I sweat a ton.

Kris you should try the Huma gels! They are so good. I used to take Gu but the flavors made me sick after awhile. Also if it's a hot day I put maple syrup and salt into my water. Really great content!

For gels, I love to use Spring Energy and Maurten. I found that I didn’t really like the texture of GU😊

Always check with the race rules that you are doing to see what you can have on you (like hydration vests). Some larger races do not allow for those. Be sure so you don’t train too much one way then find out you can’t do the same on race day. And Body Glide under the band of your sports bra. 😄

At least for me, it’s a mental game when it comes to easy runs. With long runs, speedwork, hard runs, etc., you have a goal that you’re trying to reach, whether it’s distance or time. But with easy runs, you have no real goal, at least not ones that seem to progress you forward. You are supposed to NOT run as fast as you normally do or go as far. It feels very counterintuitive. It’s similar to what is suggested to improve your pace: Run slow to run fast.

kris, this training marathon series is getting too redundant. we need more variety in content. i am getting bored every week seeing you run. you should take trips with your boyfriend - that seems to get more views

@nuttyfoodiefitness she finished Ironman triathlon recently and she have so many videos and vlogs about her training especially running. She did about fueling too. Hope that helps you.

Common great that you are running a marathon but I met frank shorter the best marathon runner ever from the states and I would rather hear from him than a average joe blow even if you are cute
