welcome!
in todays video i will be showing you the MARBLES gi utility knife. coming in at or under $10 new, this replica of a WWII pacific theatre military issued knife is a fantastic hunk of metal to throw in your pocket!
why is this all metal with no bolsters or style? the reason is simple. back in the 40s, almost all pocket knives had metal liners, with brass bolsters & either bone or wood scales.
the wood/bone scales would warp, expand, or crack from the extreme moisture & heat of the pacific ocean. so the military designed a knife that had none of the bone or wood. plus it was more solid, & cheaper to produce en-masse.
& this legend of a wartime chunk o' steel lives on in the marbles gi utility knife. granted, it is made in china, but i feel this is a worthy thing to keep in your pocket.
so, with that said... do any of you remember this knife? do you still have yours? any stories you wish to share about one of these knives? comment below, or tag me on instagram at jspr_edc. i'd love to hear anything you have to share!
