Unfortunately I think most people's level of thinking is "a flee jumped off the cat onto me once so this kinda makes sense". As far as I'm aware I have never caught anything off any animal or creature. People would be catching things all the time especially at zoos or similar sanctuary places.

That’s not really true… Real deadly, ugly pathogens like Ebola and Marburg burn themselves out because they kill quickly. But look at smallpox or bubonic plague. Those killed the hell out of people and remained/remain endemic for centuries or millennia. Or, like the other person said, HIV is endemic and before modern antiretrovirals it killed like 99% of the people who contracted it. But YEARS of hosts shedding virus before full-blown AIDS develops means it remains endemic. Or, there was this study on a purposefully introduced rabbit virus in Australia. It initially had a mortality rate in the high 90s but split into different strains with mortality ranging from 50% to 97-98%. Conventional wisdom was that the lowest mortality rate strain should come to dominate because it killed the fewest of its hosts, allowing for better propagation. But a strain with a 70% mortality rate won out for ecological reasons. The scary fact is - in the right conditions, incredibly deadly pathogens can burn through entire populations before it dead ends, herd immunity develops, or… the species goes extinct. 😬😬

Ebola kills so much faster than it spreads and replicates. An outbreak "burns itself out" and usually is traced to the source and the outbreaks don't make it to a global threat-level before it's contained. Marburg has a slower incubation period. That's just about the scariest thing in the viral world. Let that get away from us without knowing. .. oh my goodness.

@franktheexpertstrenchclub9025
@franktheexpertstrenchclub9025 5 ай бұрын
Because Egyptian fruit bats ARE the reservoir population for Marburg, is why scientists are “blaming” them. And exposed to the bats means - bitten or scratched by an infected bat, yeah, eating an infected bat would likely do it; inhaling infected particles of infected bat urine; infected bat guano or urine getting into a scratch or a mucus membrane or your mouth, etc. I don’t think bats sting people tho. That would be scary if they did.

Hahahaha What’s your evidence for that, deep thinker? We’ve known about Marburg for like 50 years or more. When was it lab made? Why? Are all exotic tropical illnesses lab made? Do natural viruses, which we find in the trillions in soil, water, plants, fungi, animals, etc. not really exist? Are they just all made by the government to threaten the health of everyone on the planet, including people working for the government? Are you a toddler?

It’s zoonotic. It just occasionally spills over to primates. Lots of zoonotic bugs do

Hi Zack. Thanks for the comment. I am actually saying "Vervet" in this video (not "Vervin") - I must not be putting enough emphasis on the "et", but it's there.

This is false information. It was made in a lab in 1960s. There’s no such thing as an outbreak.

I hope this is a joke and you’re not really this dense. How about smallpox or bubonic plague? Were those things created in labs hundreds of years before we knew what germs were because there’s no such thing as an outbreak? You conspiracy doofuses are like toddlers

FFS We’ve known about Marburg for 50 years or more. Made by what government? For what reason? So they can infect like 5 miners in Angola (who happen to be working under thousands of bats) every 3 or 4 years? Great. And what does that accomplish for the Illuminati or deep state, champ? Do you have any idea how many exotic tropical diseases there are? Are they all made by the government? Are all of the trillions of viruses in the soil and in all animals and plants and fungi all created by the government? What if you conspiracy toddlers just grew up a little?

Most people aren’t getting Marburg from eating bats. It’s like miners who work in caves surrounded by the guano and aerosolized urine of thousands and thousands of bats. It’s almost always from infected bat fluids contacting cuts, inhaled, or reaching mucous membranes.
