I’m standing here crying whilst simultaneously meal prepping realizing that in 2020, at the age of 32, I just realized what it meant to have a father figure in your life because I never had that. Sigh!

I come to this interview every 6 months, relistening carefully to what Patrice is saying. He's at his most authentic here, and his regrets are transparent with Marc; the story of unjustful charge and prison time, how it affected his career (he couldn't go to Canada because of this...), how it changed his worldview, his relations with women. He said multiple times that he was a terrible misogynist before meeting Von, which is logical. For years, the man just couldn't reconciliate himself with what happened; he transformed his bitterness into comedy, and he did almost well. All these opportunities that he missed because of his integrity, the story of his mother still taking care of him, and him, in front of her, realizing that he failed her. That one makes me, a grown ass man, cry every time. Patrice should have become big, bigger than those wannabee dating podcasts like Fresh and Fit, Pearly Things, or Whatever. His takes were original, fresh, precious. Rest in Peace, Patrice; you became the father that you never had, and not for one, but for a legion, not once, but for now many years.

It amazes when people can’t see that this is the best comedian to ever do it. He effortlessly gives you comedy and philosophy in a conversation. Better than Chappelle or Carlin ever did.

If patrice was still alive, he could live just off a podcast. This voice is something we need so today.
