Hebrews 11 is another passage where people were commended for their faith and because of their faith it was credited to them as righteousness

Hebrews 11:6 God say the only way we can please Him is to believe in him....and the book of James says if anyone doubt when he asks something will not receive anything....Jesus always answer according to our faith

Not the only example of Jesus commending faith.... In Matthew 15 a Canaanite woman had a demon possessed daughter and when she contested Jesus he said "Woman you have great faith" and her daughter was healed at that moment.

Clarifys the "authority" bit of the story beautifully. Servants didn't obey the centurion because he e asked, but because of who he was. Likewise the centurion didn't expect God to heal because he was asked but because of who he is.
