Time for another planner flip-through! This time it's the Pocket TN. I started to worry about the rings in my personal rings planner getting squished in my backpack, so I switched to this... more compact and no rings for me to break!

I love your videos! I switched from a B6 to an A6 and love the smaller portable size!

I love that you made a switch and love the portability! For me, I have to be able to easily carry my planner with me or it almost feels like a waste. I go on and on about how important it is to have a system that works with your brain, but I tend to forget to mention that an important part of that system is simply having that planner with you as often as possible!

Your nails are so cute. They look like little porcelain tiles. I hopped on the passport TN train again and this time I'm surprised at how much I'm enjoying it. I love my A6 rings, but I guess since I'm getting older, the lack of rings is more appealing. It's always good to have a flexible system especially when you tend to hop sizes...I thoroughly believe and utilize it.

Hi Carie! So inspiring as always. I have been watching you for a long time and I have always wanted to try your pocket setup. It's so neat, all together and cute too! Do you remember if your Chic Sparrow is a pocket plus or just regular? I really love the way the two moleskines fit in the cover. Perfect 🥰

Hi!!! You’re so kind! It is a Pocket, not a Pocket Plus. I was playing around and had intended to use just one Pocket Moleskine paired with a smattering of other inserts. Then I realized I could use one Moleskine for the whole year (I love the idea of having a whole year’s worth of info in one book) and use the second one for dailies, notes, and journaling, and change it out once it got full. I had a little eureka moment! 🤣

Two questions, first how do you attach the charms to your planner? Second, what is that black narrow cord type elastic that you use to hold a few pages together in the last section with? And where do you buy them? TIA.

I love your setup! How are your books secured in your TN?

Thank you so much! So, this TN cover has four elastics. I originally just had each notebook on one elastic, at the center of the notebook. But it felt… slidey. Too loose. Right now, I have the first elastic inside the front cover of the first book, the second elastic inside the back cover of the first book, then the third elastic inside the front cover of the second book, and the fourth elastic inside the back cover of the second book. I admit that I don’t know how much strain that will put on the spines and covers long-term, but two-and-a-half months in, they’re still just fine. They are soft cover notebooks that I’ve covered with sticker paper, so it’s possible that the sticker paper has provided some reinforcement. I hope that helps! If not, please let me know!

How do you space out your system so there's enough space in each section of the first book?
@CarieHarling
@CarieHarling 2 жыл бұрын
Good question! I decided what sections I wanted and in what order. Then I grabbed some small sticky notes and started counting pages, labeling the beginning of a new section with a sticky note as I went. One spread for the hockey schedule, 24 spreads for monthlies with notes in between, 52 spreads for weeklies, and the rest for finances and projects.

Thanks so much. I'm trying to go back to a planner system after years without and winging my organization. I love the idea of one notebook for everything but struggle with the idea of having it all mixed in so this helps.

Do you find it too chunky to write in sometimes or do you remove the notebook from the TN when it’s hard to write in?
@CarieHarling

So far I haven’t had an issue… we’ll see how I feel about it when I get near the back of the second book! However, writing in the front of the first book doesn’t bother me yet. That was exactly my hesitation when I thought about setting this up… I do *not* like feeling like I’m writing on a brick. I don’t like fighting with my notebooks. I do bend them back a bit at the spines, so we’ll see how they hold up as time goes on.
