Tender Is The Flesh is the most disturbing book I've ever read! Great video per usual.

Really enjoyed the format of the running top ten. Some solid choices on there and definitely stuff for the reading list. Reckon I’ll avoid Forrest Gump and Tender is the Flesh like the plague. Tender is the Flesh sounds intriguing but I’m way more squeamish as I get older. There’s no way in hell I could read Haunted by Chuck Palaniuk these days but it was a doddle when I was a whipper snapper. Reading The Dark Forest at the moment, about 1/4 of the way through and it’s great. My March was -For We Are Many and All These Worlds by Dennis E Taylor (Bobiverse books 2 and 3) -Strumpet City by James Plunket (novel set in Dublin in the early 20th century. Phenomenally good) - Equal Rites, Mort, Sourcery, Wyrd Sisters and Pyramids by Terry Prachett (my Discworld marathon) - The Secret by Lee Child ( Reacher books are a blast) - A Memory of Light by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson (finished the Wheel of Time thank Christ) - The Three Body Problem by Cixin Liu (well everyone was talking about it so about time I jumped on board)

About Deaths End I agree with the ending. Overall it was a 5.5/10 for me. (Spoilers)I think it was the best when diving into the cosmic sociology and the fallout of the “Swordbearer” role being passed to perhaps the wrong person. Thomas Wade I love. The fairytales I love. But when it started getting into the 2D stuff?? It fell off from me. Some people in my comments section have left very interesting AND VERY DIFFERENT interpretations of the ending about how it’s poetic that we originally thought only humanity would end, in fact the universe ends. And the universe ending is good because it allows a new universe to be born. A Chinese viewer said that he disagrees with the translation of “make time for humanity or humanity won’t make time” because it doesn’t t exactly tie into the ending as well as the original where the idea is that “if nothing matters then everything matters”. I’m explaining it badly (the commenter was very eloquent and I’m not). And so the fact that the universe ends anyway, and nothing truly matters that means everything has that equal value of “nothing” so in a sense each human and each civilization matters the same amount. And because of that it’s a positive ending that kind of reassures you(?) I wouldn’t say I 100% agree with that, but I never thought of it that way before the comments I received so I wanted to pass it on! (I still don’t understand the 2D part but I liked how Luo Ji had his little moment with the Mona Lisa)

Excellent video I enjoyed Tender Is The Flesh, and yes, it is disturbing. I think the cold, detached, almost clinical approach to the world and characters definitely made me uncomfortable. The writing is superb, this is reality and the way things are. Deal with it! The scene where they do a tasting of the "woman" is firmly imprinted on my brain. I'm Thinking Of Ending Things is on my kindle but I have been put off by the mixed reviews.

do u think ur reading order of the dark tower was right. Is there anything u would add?

Spoilers for Tender is the Flesh: The further I get away from it the more I’m convinced it shock for shock value. The world building is really good. The concept of the special meat plants and how women have their arms and legs cut off to act as incubators for more “special meat”. Disturbing and good for world building. That being said I truly don’t think the author says anything other than “veganism good, meat bad”. I think the set up is good the execution is not… I think I gave it a 5/10
