Marcia Griffiths is the original vocalist of 'Electric Boogie', a song which created a dance craze in America in 1989. She originally voiced that song 40 years ago in 1983 and the song was penned by her schoolfriend, the Late Bunny Wailer OM OJ.
DJ 745 sat down with 'Auntie Marcia' to unravel the truth about a song that is most well known as the “Electric Slide” song for the popular line dance associated with it, which has become synonymous at weddings, birthdays and other family get-togethers.
Various myths and rumours continue to circulate about the various 'versions' recorded during the 1980's and Marcia Griffiths sets the record straight for her fans.

A careful examination of The Bunny Wailer legacy exposes some serious shortcomings in his character. While none of us is perfect, Bunny seemed to spend his life pissing people off and burning bridges.

Bless up yourself queen of reggae sister Marcia for sharing the truth about that song. Jealousy holds no boundaries in the heart of men. If Brother Bunny was smart enough about the business he would given the album to Mr. Blackwell, promote the song/video with sister Marcia and I'm sure he would of made more money from it. I can tell Marcia was very disappointed in Bunny's behavior. I've always said, don't watch what men say, judge them by what they do. As a writer of the song, he would always be compensated for is work, but jealousy got the best of him, he also wanted to be the performer for the song. This only goes to show, the music business is not a nice place as it seems.

So true my brother Courtney he was very selfish and wanted all for himself alone, he never even informed Marcia about the plan of him doing it over all by himself, the reason was that the funds that Chris gave him to produce an album with Marcia which he never gave to Chris, and kept he funds telling me that Chris owes him money from the Wailers era, so he's holding on to that against whatever funds he claimed Island Records owed him.He knew that the version that he gave to Chris which was the only version recorded all the funds he received as advance would have to be deducted b4 he received a dime.Doing it all over by himself he figured he would have total control of everything including distribution and wouldn,t have to pay Marcia anything as all would go to him the fact that the dance is out supporting the song. He was just selfish and mean to his sister Marcia whom is also his former schoolmate.
