They drafted him to be a starting pg after Rondo and at the time Avery Bradley is more of a 2 than a facilitator. And most of the C's fan base will root for the Grizzlies. Marcus was like a family member. And you can't imagine how sad it is in my country where everyone is happy for KP but I am legit the only one who is sad about Marcus leaving. That is a true fan of the team because there is no one who gave the team more pulse when it needed then Marcus.

@@WoodT92 You could say Pierce, but imo there’s something more “heartbreaking” about a surprise trade in the middile of one’s prime like with Smart, rather than someone who essentially already finished their career and was on the way down and out. And we knew the Pierce-KG trade was probably gonna happen with the downward trajectory of the team not even getting and their older age. With Smart, it was a total surprise being in the middle of his prime, and the fact that it was originally supposed to be Brogdon in the deal instead, and it only changed to Smart because the Clippers didnt feel like they had enough time to send a doctor to evaluate Brogdon

@@PaM07675 you make a great point about Pierce. Him leaving wasn’t a shocker cause he was at the end of his career but it was still hard to swallow. Trading Pierce meant an end of an era cause he played here for 15 years. Smart was on his way to be like that. I always thought he would play his whole career in Boston and retire a Celtic, but he’s gone now. Hopefully he comes back at one point.
