L'undici gennaio 1987 una mareggiata, peggiore di questa, dopo un pomeriggio intero ha completamente distrutto il porto spostando blocchi di cemento da oltre 30000 tonnellate.... un evento che nella mia memoria ricordo ancora come indescrivibile. Le onde erano semplicemente oceaniche........ e siamo nel piccolo mar tirreno

The perfect illustration of why you can't be complacent next to the ocean when there are waves like this. Just because previous waves haven't washed up where you happen to be, does NOT mean that no waves can reach you.

Nel 1987 ho assistito, ancora bambino, alla mareggiata che distrusse il porto e stare difronte a queste onde colossali mi ha riportato indietro a quelle sensazioni di assoluta impotenza e fragilità...

In 2004 ,our friends group experienced tsunami at kanyakumari,india on rock memorial,but it's biggest miracle all the tourists on the rock memorial survived,but till 2013 I had nightmares of the waves and the humongous sound

Tu pensa che queste onde sono piccole , nessun mare e impetuoso e spaventoso come l oceano , io l ho visto con i miei occhi un onda talmente grossa che non so nemmeno come spiegartelo, una catena di palazzi a 5 piani che s innalza come se fosse una carta spostata dal vento e la nave cargo che oscilla su e giu come una giostra e pensi che se succede qualcosa ce solo mare intorno a te..... Il mare fa paura noi in italia abbiamo le piscinette ... comunque questa mareggiata sa il fatto suo

The seabed is not very suitable for surfing, but in some spots it can be done. The town is called Maratea

I live in a city below sea level and Climatologists says by 2050 a portion of it will be underwater. What deems a coastal city to be not livable? SMH it’s already waist high when it floods so are we waiting for the water to reach the 2nd floor of a home before we say let’s relocate. This area in video is one bad storm from killing thousands of people.
