Margaret Atwood defines the Canadian sense of humor as “a bit Scottish,” and in this live conversation with Tyler, she loves to let her own comedic sensibilities shine. In addition to many other thoughts about Canada - it’s big after all - she and Tyler discuss Twitter, biotechnology, Biblical history, her families of patents, poetry, literature, movies, and feminism.
Is it coincidence that Atwood started The Handmaid’s Tale in West Berlin during 1984? Does she believe in ghosts? Is the Western commitment to free speech waning? How does she stay so productive? Why is she against picking favorites? Atwood provides insight to these questions and much more.

This interviewer is kind of annoying.

I found it provocative. But frustrating. For example she says that Feminism is like being Christian.. You have to ask what kind.....Then they quickly jump to something else without finding out what kind she might have an affinity for....Just a barrage of question after question but she is a good sport and keeps answering them until finally she sets a few rules about how asking someone what is their 'favorite'...is kinda annoying or even childlike, and maybe 'nobody's business.' She started getting tired at the end I think like 'What books do you suggest for teenage curriculum?' Really? in the Deep South or wherever...?.She is polite and says 'I'll have to think about that.' She indicates that to recommend books you need to know the person to whom you are giving the recommendation.. I learned some things from this interview but the style was rapid fire questioning without exploring the answers. Many good questions thought, just no chance to explore the answers.

Tyler is so myopic and limited in his thinking - it's hard to listen to these interviews even though the guests are great. They are funded by a conservative think tank so there's that
