Margaret Curtis at Calanais. In Memoriam.

Күн бұрынMany of you will have met Margaret during tours of the Calanais complex. We have just heard that she sadly passed away Sat 26th March 2022. Her work touched many and she will be sadly missed. We are in touch with her family and the relevant agencies to see that her legacy will be preserved and passed on. During a break in lockdown Sue and I were able to visit Margaret in September 2021 and she was keen to look back over her life's work and share some insights. We are happy to have caught these moments so we can share them with you.

What a treasure. I never had the pleasure of meeting Margaret. She is so knowledgable and you can tell she loved the Calanais landscape deeply. Thank you for posting this, now I have a glimpse of her genius and passion for the stones. RIP

Thank you, Peter, for sharing your visit with Mrs. Curtis here. I was privileged to meet her in 2001 and to be given a tour of the Calenais Stones. This was a life-altering experience for me, and she is an extraordinary soul. I’m glad to hear her legacy is being preserved. May she rest in peace.
