She is a very strong contender for the best outdoor female climber of our time and you think she's not about climbing SMH. She literally made a 6 page topo of the route so that she could visualize, how is that not about the climbing? Stop hating on pros for being willing to sacrifice some time and privacy to stand in front of a camera in order to allow themselves the financial ability to climb at their best.

At 9a and above you are essentially climbing a completely vertical/horizontal wall with the smallest of possible imperfections in the rock being your handholds for the most part. It's interesting that these route were considered unclimbable before Chris Sharma came along. Even now, only a handful people have managed to get this far. But if you think this is crazy, check out 9b/+ and 9c routes, some of them are basically hanging upside down on a cave wall as you climb across. That's pretty much the first part of Silence haha.

@AveSicarius
@AveSicarius 2 жыл бұрын
@@eyeofhorus1301 I mean there are likely plenty of routes that are potentially 9c, but nobody has managed to map them out yet or climb them fully yet. Also, if I remember correctly, it took Adam some four years to map out and climb Silence, and this was pretty recently. The real issue with 9c+ is that you start to approach the point where a face just isn't climbable. Handholds are very small and quite spaced for the most part, and even just mapping the route can take a very long time depending on how long it is. You have to remember that Chris Sharma had been working on La Dura Dura, a 9b, for four years before he climbed it, and Adam only climbed it in 1 and 1/2 years with Chris's guidance (he definitely could have done it himself, it just would have taken much longer). Actually establishing a climbable pitch takes quite a significant amount of time, I wouldn't be surprised if Adam or his peers have got a 9c+ in the works, it's just likely a few years away from completion.

I am 44, a mom with 2 kids, I started indoor climbing just a year ago but I do understand that feeling, when achieving a route , sometimes I think I can’t do it, but the end I did, climbing trains your brain, it’s a very good Sport for the Body and mind!

Love this. Just mega mega climbing. So smooth, so precise. Astonishing footwork. Our sport is wonderful because it’s open to all and anyone can experience that feeling, even on lower grades. Fabulous video. Thank you!!!!!!!

bulls are you 98 or something? The world has changed, get that through ur tiny brain LMAOO. This girl is amazing and deserves the recognition, but all the sudden shes not doing enough? You cant do anything like what she accomplished and I dont see you donating to churches and shit, besides there are tons more places that need donations than churches, sit down.
