This is a beautiful song by Erik Bye. Here is a quick and simple translation of the lyrics: Blue Psalm I sing myself a blue, blue psalm When the day tips the hat farewell And row slow strokes towards the shores Where all days row each eve Then I seek my rest At the tree’s safe root While Midsummer snakes glow green In the grass by my foot. Then I sing my psalm I sing myself a blue, blue psalm And give thanks for the growth that became mine. For bright days, for children's steps in the garden And your tender caresses against my cheek. But also for sleepless nights That never provided peace But gave my day a dark draft I never quite understood. Then I sing my psalm I sing myself a blue, blue psalm To you, the Hand that gathers and wounds And lowers you with blessing over the earth With healing for all our wounds. Which offers us a straight spine Get up and go to battle With raised head, every soul must Walk in the Lord’s time. Then we sing our psalm.

Comments by the judges: Maria has an interesting job. She works with baby singing. This is what she said in the pre-interveiw: «My work is about music, relation, contact..so that mothers and fathers can have a moment with their baby through music. The music becomes an aid tool. If I want them to be a bit quiet I start to sing, and then they stop crying. I have applied for The voice cause I have realized that one shouldnt be afraid of showing yourself. I’m singing in a choir who is often on stage, but not on TV.» After the performance: Espen: Hi Maria: Hello there Espen: Who are you? Maria: My name is Maria Espen: Maria, this is just the performance that at least I'm looking for, that we all look for, that actually seems pretty simple on the surface and seems easy to sing. But then you are able to just stand straight up and sing like that, with the clearest voice you have. Sometimes your voice is transparent, because you are so fragile, and its just so incredibly beautiful. If I had a hat, I would take it off for you. Fantastic. Matoma: Yes, now I was supposed to say something, but Maria, I was totally put out by this, so I don’t know if I am able to speak. (with a voice about to crack) I think I just have to pass this one to Ina Ina: We can return to you, my friend Matoma: (with a cracked voice) I dont know if I’m able to speak, cause this was totally.... Ina: I heard sniffs from the corner here. It will almost be a bit cheap to sell oneself in, cause damn Maria, that was extremely beautiful. Its very rare and I was just sitting there with open mouth (chin fallen down). Dont be difficult Maria (points towards herself, for her to come to her team). Maria: Thank you so much Yosef: Its very obvious that you tell us something, that it means something. It was extremely good. Maria: Thank you Espen: It looks like you are surprised by the response? Maria: Yes, I dont understand anything Everyone laughs.. Espen: Everyone has the chin down to the floor... Ina: And the hat in our hands and everything.. Maria: My godness, well I dont know if you notice what I wear? I have dressed up for Ina (a onepiece like her) Ina: Ahhh, you have? Me?? Maria: So, I chose you. Ina dancing of happiness and gives her a hug (while the crowd shouts «Ina, Ina, Ina»

Well done, Maria. What a beautiful voice and version of this special song (As you know, while Erik Bye's lyrics has 3x verses, it was wise to sing only two. I found two different translations. Here is the best one (in my opinion) Original lyrics by Erik Bye I sing my song, a blue, blue anthem when this old day is bidding us farewell, and row ashore to beaches of contentment where there are no pretentious tales to tell. I seek my tree for resting, for shelter and retreat while glowworms give me glints of green in soft grass at my feet. And now I sing my anthem. I sing my song, a blue, blue anthem for what I`m given ev`ry single day, for happy times and playful steps around me, and all the kindness you have brought my way. But also for the moments awake the whole night through, they gave my day a shady touch, I wondered what to do. And now I sing my anthem. I sing to you a blue, blue anthem, to you, the Hand who gathers us and seeds, and brings us all recovery and blessings, and crops fulfilling all our daily needs, who bids us face the challenge; find ev`ry soul`s award, with heads up high take places in the chapter of the Lord. And now we sing our anthem.

Erik Bye wrote texts involving boats and sailing, something like: I sing (for myself) a blue, blue hymn When the day waves its hat to say goodbye And rows with slow ore-movements towards the beaches Where all days row when evening comes That's when I seek rest By the tree's safe root While glowworms glows green In the grass by my foot That's when i sing my hymn …etc…

@@OlaFosheimGrstad He had a sailor’s heart ❤️ but his lyrics was about so much more than only boats and sailing. He wrote about life, and the miracle it is to be alive. In Norway, you’re not supposed to say any accent or dialect represents «standard» Norwegian - but what you hear is definitely the most widespread Norwegian «dialect», as spoken by (educated) people in and around Oslo and the smaller towns along the Oslo fjord. If you don’t want to be associated with a particular part of the country but just learn a general Norwegian that works in all settings, her accent and diction are indeed very educational :-)

She sings in the traditional east-side accsent. Wich is the area that include Oslo, Akershus, Drammen. It is a direct accsent. Wich means the spelling and pronansiation of bokmål, earlier riksmål is said in the tone their are written. It was created to be a sofisticated language for the upper-class. But the dialect has evolved to be more toned down and more common. The song is from Erik Bye. He was a sailor, poet, folk singer, philosopher, public person, tv personality, spoke person and people pleaser that was heavily inspired by Alf Prøysen. His songs are based of poetry, metafors and philosofy with an important message. About pure human conection and to appretiat the small things. And be kind to each other. He used alot of his experience and knowlege from his time when he went out sailing as a sailor in his text because its pure and simple and un-judgemental that everyone could feel a contection to. And have a meditational experience that connected you to the nature. He was very kind and charismatic and beloved all over the nation and everyone loved him. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hrJkaNCArbSbmZc.html

I think you need to learn your facts before making a statement Are singers on "The Voice" autotuned? Music Producer & Songwriter at Universal Music Group (2008-present) Answered Sep 7, 2018 No they are not. And it’s amazing how stunningly great some of those singers are. But often when they are trying to so hard to hit those really impressive notes, they just don’t quite get there. Whether sharp or flat, we get to listen to those contestants in all their unfiltered glory. That being said, if those same singers go into the studio to record, it’s a better bet that there is some tuning applied to their vocals, at least hear and there. People are under the impression these days that our current crop of artists cannot sing - that they all rely heavily on auto-tune. There are some singers that are fully reliant on it, that is true. But many singers are just amazing vocalists. And still, there is some tuning involved in their recorded performances. That’s because there is a completely different expectation for recorded music these days, and particularly with pop music the expectation is near perfection. In contrast, it is a misconception that recording artists of the past (pre-auto-tune) were all great singers, and that they had some incredible skill that modern singers lack. To deflate that concept, just go back and really listen to a bunch of records from the 60s, 70s or 80s. These days I’m constantly amazed at how often singers back then were just not in tune.

If they use autotune can you tell me how this woman can sing like this? It doesnt really sound as pure and clean, does it? If it would be autotune, the people who would fix that would have done a pretty shitty job. kzfaq.infoUgkxSq0640twI60yLnkEbP_26bTWI53HAeAC
