I have the feeling that when she sings this song it is as a rebuke against those that are always comparing her to her mother. Which is doubly ironic, because this song is the one in the most iconic performance of her mother and consequently one that she is compared to the most. The lyrics talk about not being stuck in the past, people that are too nostalgic and can't appreciate the new for what it is. Finally in the aniversary of 40 years of death of Elis, she decided make a tribute for Elis and made a show, DVD and album singing only songs from Elis' repertoire.
