Denzel Zeigler back in the day, it used to annoy me how Mariah’s R&B remixes wouldn’t get as much love on the radio. And, I had to watch certain shows to see the videos for the remixes, which still didn’t get as much play as the pop versions. The remixes to Fantasy and Heartbreak were the only ones to get a lot of play. I’ll take the remix’s like Thank God I Found You and I Still Believe/ Pure Imagination remix over the originals and day!

My fav part is 3:17 when she comes back in with chorus after Lord Tariq! I love the slight growl/slight raspy sound of it. People must know that Mariah Carey was fighting with Columbia Records the first 10 years for creative control. She lists Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and Gladys Knight as her musical idols. Patti Labelle is her godmother. Mariah grew up listening to New York Urban Radio. How in the hell would anyone think that she REALLY want to sing cotton candy music?!?! "Dreamlover" (1993) - she snuck in the Big Daddy Kane beat sample / "Fantasy" (1995) - she made the groundbreaking collabo with Ol' Dirty Bastard (Wu-Tang; RIP)
@lacurronec38157 жыл бұрын
what exactly do you mean by 'cotton candy' music? ballads? isnt it boring to do dance songs all the time? and when she first started out and for the first six years of her career (1990-1996) she used to be nice and humble and a good girl with a clean image, then she starte acting all loud and sassy and flirty, and diva ish, and started to wear next to nothing.

Considering that her tone changes with almost every album that she released (the most beautiful coming from the Rainbow Era).

Im sure I'm not the only one who feels this...... This music or better yet this era of music and these times were truly golden. I was a late teenager when some of the greatest hits and artists of hiphop existed. The nostalgia runs so deep. I am now 32 years old and I can't even explain what I would give to go back to these days, where music brought people together and you'd meet your significant other through physical interaction and proper communication. But I think the most painful part of listening to old school music is that.........these days will NEVER come back and there is no rewind nor reply button to our lives. So to all of us that lived the best times of your lives during this era. Cheers and God bless!

She'd be our BoA, our SNSD (Girls Generation ~ OT9). Our forever idol, who changed the direction and conventions of pop music and set the trends of RnB, especially with regards to incorporating rap into mainstream pop songs. . Mariah’s going to surprise a lot of people on this new album. Mariah hasn’t lost her voice. She just has a problem voice; a voice that’s sensitive to air-conditioning, talking all day (interviews), perfumes, smoke and she has nodules which act up when she’s stressed and hasn’t gotten enough sleep. Mariah’s an insomniac that doesn’t sleep and she’s been on the road for years, touring, travelling, constantly working and as a result, she’s mostly existed in fight or flight and her voice regime has fallen by the wayside. Lockdown was rehabilitation for Mariah’s voice, she just needed rest and relaxation, which the pandemic was for her. Her voice has recovered it’s tone, range and lustre. Mariah’s voice has matured but she can still really sing with it when she prioritises voice care and healthy living. Well, she finally did that in lockdown and discovered her gift was still there and would come out again if she respected it. Since realising rest is what her voice needs and that she’s more than proved herself, she’s re-organised her work/life balance and is going back to delivering quality musical output for the people that love her and no one else. She’s been laying down her healthy, hydrated and refreshed vocals and Mariah fans are going to be in for a shock when we hear the results💯

She should probably stop smoking weed then
@damyanthelion Жыл бұрын
@@FreshZ32 None of us really know what the issues are tbh. She could be a secret smoker, I personally just think she can’t be arsed with the upkeep. Esp’ since she’s realised she can still book stages off her name and catalogue alone. That said, I do live in hope that if she’s going to commit to recording new music, that she actually prioritise voice care and vocal health. At the end of the day she can do what she wants but hopefully she respects her legacy enough to put her best foot forward🤷🏽♂️
