I know Naomi wanted to get into the deeper stories about Mariah's life but it just couldn't hit but only a few moments. I still think Mariah has the protective shell around her, but I just want her to go deeper emotionally. I don't think she feels comfortable talking about her life verbally, but in writing, she is able to fully express what she feels, what she went through, and who she is... as anyone can tell by her incredibly powerful songs

I love Mariah so much. Her and Janet are my favorite female artists. They embody that old school class. I love the way Mariah broke it down about the dark and defining moments in her childhood. I almost didn’t wanna believe they’re really friends that hang-out but I realized they are of the same age, and they both blossomed almost at the same time era but just different industries meanwhile still bumping into each other on social occasions. Listening to her memoir was so impactful for me. I related to her story so much and how she grew up in such trauma and was able to break the cycle. I felt like I know her personally and that she’s like my sister or friend. Even seeing Mariah now, it’s like I’ve know her my whole life. I’ve never bought an auto book before. So this was an experience I’ll remember forever.

Mariah ethnically speaking is just Afro Latino, Spanish (white latino) and white american (probably English and Irish) on her mothers side

Growing up my sister and I always loved Mariah and till this day bring her up in conversation as someone that we have always been able to identify with when there was no one else like us...in regards to ethnicity. Specifically, when she said that the number one question she always got was "what are you?" That is literally the exact same question that my sister and I have always received and I suddenly feel so understood. Thank you Mariah Carey for talking about this subject.
