one of the best remixes to ever come out of the soundcloud trap era. along with his remix of say my name. truly phenomenal remixes and reinterpretations of these classics.

i found this remix back in 2015 because i had this massive crush on jaden smith and used to make edits for him. i was 15 and my mom had just gotten married to an abusive narcissist. making edits and writing fanfic is what got me through that dark time so I'd always be looking for audios to use for edits. this song quickly became one of my favorites and wow it just brings back so many memories. I'm 20 now and very glad that I'm in a much better place

Same ! I had my childhood taken but HEY we made the best out of what we had. I am 22 now and I feel like what I went through taught me alot yahno?... I've learned to not be like my parents and to create something better for myself so that they are proud BUT mostly because you did it for you and noone else. Life's a gift , that's why we were granted a present !

This version totally brings out the essence of the song tbh - it puts context to its underlying melancholy/sadness compared to the original, which was obviously crafted for the radio in mind and belied the essence via its sunny, bouncy soundscape. The way I interpret this version is the protagonist is so desperate to please the other person they're in contact with and perhaps, in turn, feel something from this connection, which makes its final plea to "give me what I deserve" all the more touching and poignant. It's sad and sexy at the same time, which is always a lethal combo. Incredible job!
