Mariah Carey is the soundtrack of my life. Her songs relates to me most, and I think that's the most important thing a singer should achieve. High notes and vocal acrobatics are only there for you to be impressed, but to be able to connect and relate to your listeners while doing all this things is on another level. Mariah's songs stood the test of time, and I'm glad she also wrote her songs.

We all know how Celine sings, I love her nasal the most, everything is not about high notes, it's the emotions that we need to see as well. The stage presence, Celine knows how to control the stage, the choreography, connection with the backup singers, dancers, and even the instrumentalists, they're all enjoying on stage, she's really giving enough recognition to the "unimportant" people on stage based on most people who only cares the famous ones, and if staying still is better. She can add up humor, sadness, excitement, confusion, or any other complex emotions (some dramatic is better for Whitney, lively and exciting music was very suitable for Mariah's sweet voice, but what I think is great with Celine based on her voice is that it's on the middle, not too light, not as dark as Whitney, but has a great range not higher than Mariah or Whitney, dramaticness that is very versatile, from negative to positive emotions). She is the one who plays the MOST (obviously the other two does, but Celine really gives out a better one most of the time) with the fans, she's very humble, even if she's the least popular in the US areas especially when their on their own primes, she's just enjoying her performances (but obviously, the French industry loves her, she literally carried it. Celine lasted the longest because of her professionalism and great techniques not just to sing effortlessly but to preserve her voice as much as possible, successfully trying out almost genres and killing all of it, with and without high notes. I think her best concert yet is on Stade of France (Au Coeur du Stade ).

Also, you forgot that she's the best at sustaining notes with different qualities, the strongest, highest, and longest yet is probably All By Myself studio recording, others can do it, but not imitate how Celine does it, live or studio.

Mariah was called the white Whitney when she came out, she worked with all Whitney producers too. Whitney is in the rock and roll hall of fame and the others ain’t. How’s that for reality.

@@ON-ck9eo I'm a huge fan of all 3 women but seriously? The age gap between them are not that far apart for one to say that Celine and Mariah were modelled after Whitney. Sure, their labels must have aspired for Mariah and Celine to be as successful as Whitney, but it's not fair to say that they sounded like her. They all had their unique voices but just because they are all women and they have powerful voices, the media played up the comparisons between them and created some sort of rivalry that never really existed. Celine had been singing before Whitney even became huge so she had already developed her own style. As for Mariah, she had been writing and recording her demos before she even met the producers who worked with Whitney. Besides, Mariah typically had only one songwriting partner in her pre-Butterfly era. The first was Ben Margulies whom she had worked with before she was even signed to any label (and with whom she wrote many songs that were distinct from Whitney's music) It was only after she was signed on to Columbia that Tommy Mottola roped in Walter Afanasieff to work with her, so no, she did not "copy" Whitney. She had her own ideas and style. More importantly, she already had a vision of the kind of artist she wanted to become. To say that they were essentially copycats really diminishes their talent. Also, Mariah has been inducted into the songwriters' hall of fame while Whitney hasn't. So again, I don't see your point. As for Celine, she's a legend in her own right.

Mariah is more on the R&B side, soft tones, and complex melismatic approach but she can also be loud, resonant, and belty if she wants to. I understand why people would put Celine and Whitney above her. The 2 sustains B4 note and above with vibrato like the rent is due. That's one of their many strengths. They would usually blast off their power on those areas which many people would see as a great attribute for a belter. However, Mariah's strength in terms of sustaining belts is different from them. For me, her sustained belts with vibrato shines from A4 to D5. Above it, she would usually just phrase the notes or hold for a few seconds then she would scale down through a riff or run. Many listeners that are non-lambs would feel like it's unsatisfying, kind of limited, or like a cliffhanger. But personally, I am satisfied with how Mariah sings. I like her style. It's like a roller coaster ride. Her voice takes me to different levels of highs and lows. I get excited whenever I hear her songs. It doesn't mean that her strengths are not the same as Celine's or Whitney's, she's already at the bottom. She's just in a league of her own. 😍 This is me just stating my opinion once and for all as I have seen many non-lambs would discredit Mariah's music and vocals just because she's not like their ideal belter they expected her to be.

Lol, everything is not about high notes, you can sing without hitting the highest of all notes, of the three singers, it's clearly Celine who's versatile, from ballad, rock, pop, French etc. She just can give the right feelings to it while still hitting notes not just effortlessly, but with emotions. It's evident that most of her songs have something she can relate in real life, Whitney's presence in singing is coming second for me for the dramatic types, while I think Mariah is great for the hardcore or positive type of songs the most. I mean you can only feel it when you're not a hater or something while what's good with Mariah is that she has a wide vocal range to hit effortlessly most of the time especially when she's on her peak, then Whitney's strength and resonance is great (larger voice compared to the two). Your nearly pointless opinion is clearly making it sound that Mariah stomps the two, clearly not. Obviously you're a "fan" of Mariah, "Mariah Canary." I wouldn't even bother explaining too much with Celine or Whitney's vocal technics or approach since you're that one biased Mariah "fan" who can't appreciate the other two since you only think about the technicality of performances, being a great technician doesn't put you already at the top. You're a great technician, that's it. Even in other genres of singing, such as opera, you won't give a great performance to those who actually understands music if you only focus on the ornamentations too much. Of course it's enjoying to listen to high notes, but it's not always that we should give attention too much.

It's never in my intention to stomp the 2 other singers while lifting Mariah and influence you and other people with what I have to say. The context of what I said is that Mariah's strength is not the same as the other 2 and it doesn't mean she can't do certain things that the others can, she's already below them. You can idolize Celine as long as you want. You're also free to believe whatever you want to believe about them and about music. I will not take that away from you. But no need to be triggered and hateful towards me just because we don't share the same opinion. There are also parts where you assumed things. You clearly have not listened to her extensive catalogue which she mostly penned herself btw - Something which can't be said for the other 2. Thank you so much for all your reactions ... I very like these great artists... Do you know the greatest singer in the world ( according to major international specialists ) Dimash Qudaibergen ? He sings higher than Céline Dion, Mariah Carrey, Withney Houston etc... He has an extraordinary vocal range. More than 7 octaves. He even reaches the rating D8 You can hear covers sung by him such : SOS d'un terrien en détresse ; My heart will go on ; Show must go on, all by myself ; Adagio etc... Unbelievable !!! Just because you have more octaves doesn't make you a better singer. And he is not the best singer, more like the worst. He literally strains. And Mariah hit a F#8!
