I totally agree! This book is absolutely riveting...and the wisdom that she channels is so timely, restorative, eradicating, cleansing, liberating, illuminating, and transforming..Surely, God is speaking to us through Marianne...I believe what she says. It rings true with my spirit. Her words spark a fire in my spirit to be a part of this change...

Yes!!!!!!!!! So glad I found this interview. Maryanne is addressing the very thing that has troubled and disturbed many of us, and she doesn't just gloss over the horrors of war, violence, oppression and environmental devastation. She urges us to face and move through the fear, outrage and sadness, so that we can address and heal our world. TY Maryanne.

She has a good point about the need for connecting with how we feel about things that really matter and gaining perspective on what they are!

This is a great interview. Thanks for posting it. The idea of a collective depression because we don't want to talk about the deeper truths and only want to talk about celebrities and if their marraiges are going to work out, etc -- very good way of putting it.

True--concepts are only concepts until they're realized. When the "I" is seen as a construct then the things "I" involves oneself in are no longer problematic.

In a lot of ways that is what she says. The change in the world, she says, is a only manifestation of our own personal change.

@philippematthews Thank you Phillippe for the support! The thing that I am realizing is that it takes GutZ to choose to travel a new and different path, but more than that, if even 1 person speaks up in support, it changes the dynamics of the group. So if that is so... all it takes is one person to speak up for the other to warpspeed the process of positive change. NOT always easy, but all it takes is commitment. I'm there!

Years ago I read and went through the exercises in A Course in Miracles (twice), and it was incredibly valuable for my burgeoning spiritual awakening. I just happened to stumble upon it on KZfaq and decided to have another listen. It's kind of enlightening to experience it once more after all these years of continued spiritual growth. Now it appears to me that the Course in Miracles was intended - by the universal consciousness/God - as a (much needed) fix/patch/upgrade to Christianity in order to eliminate all the anger, darkness and misconceptions that have been perpetuated over the millennia in Christ's name. For Christians who reject the darkness within Christianity (particularly the Old Testament) and are looking for a more enlightened worldview, A Course in Miracles gives them a highly relatable information source they can use to reestablish their connection purely with Christ's message of love, forgiveness, charity, refrain from judgment, etc., without the burden of having to “sift out” all the fear and ignorance-based elements that we know in our hearts are not of Christ - the biggest one being that God will throw us away like so much unwanted trash if we “displease him.” (Eventually it becomes clear that we are ALL precious, eternal, irreplaceable aspects of God that “he” could no sooner throw away than we could our own children. And that this “larger consciousness” will work with us for a long as it takes - for as may lifetimes as it takes - for us to grow into the purely loving beings that “he” intends for us ALL to become.) Considering the recent statements from the Duck Dynasty patriarch, there's still plenty of work to be done within the "Christian consciousness" as a whole. And A Course in Miracles is the perfect place to start for Christians who are determined to "love like Jesus." All the best!

***** Jesus said from the cross, "It is finished." Why would he say that if later on it would need to be fixed/patched/upgraded?

Agree with your last comment. Everything depends on your current consciousness about what Is. If you have realized concepts on your Own then they are True for yourself. Then we get to the point where your first statement is True for the one who completed a process of releasing the "I". At that point the first statement could help someone if they investigate its true meaning and realize what it really means.

It seems that Marianne Williamson is a bit different in message than other Course in Miracles teachers because she seems very concerned with what happens in the world...like its important...don't want to compare her in an ego way...love her so with all my heart and all of you with all my heart...just was wondering...

I'm doing the same Rebecca, I think the discussion with @TadRapidly does not directly contribute to the experience you are sharing with us. I still have emotions, needs and "challenges" but for some reason I have found that suffering is connected to my "separated" psychological identity. Sorry for detracting your comment.

people are deluded by the impulse that hatred is equal to strength. Actual strength lies in forgiveness and compassion--even for warriors.

As soon as she said we need to "change the world," I knew her teachings were not for me. It's not about changing what's outside of you - that is the grand illusion. We live in a vibrational universe. There are as many realities as there are people, and, infinite parallel earths. No one can change "the world" - all anyone can do is change the Self. You then shift to an alternate parallel reality, and it APPEARS as if your world has changed. "Be the change you want to see..."

"I" agree with you, but that viewpoint could not be practical for most of the people. While you have needs, while you have to keep feeding your body, paying your taxes, need of sex, need of psychological recognition, there still will be an "I", "My" and "Mine". The process of getting free is not as simple communicating a concept. It requires the development of consciousness about yourself in a very deep level.

ACIM clarifies the message that Jesus tried to convey 2000 years ago, but in vain, as the knowledge of psychological projection was not yet known, and wouldn't be for another 1900 years. Read about a psychological view on ACIM in the e-course "A Psychosynthesis Perspective on ACIM" : psykosyntesforum.se/courses_ACIM.htm .

The horribly ironic thing is that people such as yourself are so conditioned that you think concepts are real. 'God' is not a person, creature or thing. 'God' is a word meaning consciousness. To know what consciousness is, you have to pay attention to your experience, not interpret it through the sounds and symbols that the brain uses. You need to be aware of how the brain works and not identify exclusively with it. Like most people I meet, you won't pay attention..
