I changed the buttons on a navy blazer from plastic to gold military buttons and it looks fabulous. Larger gold buttons on the front, smaller gold buttons n the cuff. Also changing buttons to a more expensive stylish ones will always instantly transform a garment. Great video thank you!

Not only are your 5 items super nice, I really like the outfit you are wearing in the video. If I wear out a garment that has nice buttons, I remove the buttons and recycle them. They sometimes come in handy for repairs. Love your romantic handbag story.

Thank you for covering this topic, Marie-Anne! You have again validated something I gave always cherished which is special somethings in clothing detail that makes me enjoy wearing a piece. My only regret is having donated beautiful items in the past simply because others weren't wearing them when I was. Case in point: stacked heel leather loafers and classic denim jeans w a straight leg. Merci!

When I first started looking at this vlog I thought WOW! what did Marie-Anne have done??? Then I realized that it was a new and fabulous haircut. It is stunning! It makes you look 20 years younger. I really like it....so chic!!! Enjoyed the outtakes-it's great to have fun. I really enjoyed all your ideas. I do not wear jewelry and have learned that changes in my necklines are very helpful. I agree. The non-French who do videos or blogs, etc,. that attempt to breakdown the 'how to's' of French women & style, all seem to represent a very limited 'look and attitude'. They leave out "down-to-earth and fun".

Marie-Anne Lecoeur I Love all really, you know exactly what you are talking about, you share what we need to know, but the one I like a lot was the one how to look expensive... this is so true, people like to ware lot and lots of brands logos on their clothes (which by the way they should get paid for the publicity 😉) and this is not style, this is only the way to say I have money 😬😬 French woman ( my sons God Mother is French) like to spend in quality and also in creams 😄 they take care a lot of their skin, admire them for that because is hard for them to Think in plastic surgery

I love the video. I bought a pullover last winter in a camel color but with rhinestone sparkling buttons on the side. It took it from ordinary to extraordinary. I too love the haircut. Then again, I like short sassy hair.

Yes I have to agree with @Ute Sedlacek. Your hairstyle in this video is beautiful! It is so fun to see the outtakes at the end, where you accidentally start explaining everything in French, or you get a little bit tongue tied. It is charming, and it also illustrates what you have been saying to us in your videos- Nobody has to act or look perfect, because none of us are perfect, and that is okay. :-)

I bought a smart, good quality, nearly new jacket in sea green for £1.50 in a charity shop this week and I changed the three buttons for a mismatched set, as the style was a bit staid. I have also sewn buttons on with different threads. I love little details like that. As I’m remaking my too big clothes, I’m trying to be a bit adventurous!

I love a "frame bag" style with a kissing lock. It reminds me of the bags my late grandma used to carry and she'd put a little purse in a similar style in it for her coins. She was a stylish lady of her time and I love those vintage looking details

Love the hair!!! I have ben collection buttons for years. I like to add them to my cardigans as well. I can't afford to by expensive "designer" sweater sets so I started changing out buttons. I also like vintage pins to add to my sweaters. That pink is GORGEOUS!

I enjoy changing buttons and using small "little critter" brooches on the lapel of my blazers . I do not wear jewelry, except for a pair of small sterling hoop earrings, so just having a frog or insect or something that is interesting, is my "trademark". You are so inspiring and lovely too, Marie Anne!

Tips on buttons: If you have a plain sheath or A-line dress, sew three small buttons to the center neckline vertically. You can use a button in a slightly contrasting color, or you can buy buttons and backs or shanks and a small piece of fabric, cover the buttons yourself, and you have a nice fabric contrast to your fashion fabric. Or you can take three buttons and sew them along one shoulder seam. I have a camel twill sheath dress and added three small wooden buttons vertically starting at the neckline. These are small inexpensive changes you can make to boost the style of your garment.

They're fun, silly and add a sweetness to your presentations.😲 As far as details go, I think I would say my favorite ideas/touches for my fashion is actually 'the proportion & silhouette'. Of course I love special little touches and colors that set my outfits apart, but after the silhouette (and of course accessories) I like to use my jewelry to set my mark.

The details are so important - it helps everything look more put together. Moccasins are definitely a must for everyone - it really elevates a casual outfit. I like that French women cherish meaning in their clothing. I have an eyelet dress with lovely texture that I wore on my first date with my husband. - I now love to incorporate that detail into my clothing

Loving the new hair cut.... Changing buttons is a good tip..one I got from my mother...who would buy something in C&A and remove the tag and upgrade the buttons..and belt too...suddenly the item looks more expensive..classic and best of all unique.

Agree that this hairstyle and length is very flattering and absolutely makes you look younger. Found a sweater similar to this, waiting for it to be delivered on Monday. Tes mocassins sont adorables! Well I learned from my grandma. She always said never follow the trend, don’t wear the same every one wears. Be different but very subtle and with style. So she changed buttons, added some extra things ( like a different thread or an accessory! ). She had one black angora sweater that she adored and she sewed a small silver cat with crystal eyes on the left side of the neck. That made it gorgeous! I add a couple of buttons to sweaters, or change the buttons to some shirts, even change the laces of my shoes using contrasting colors. The world is less permissive for men when it comes to clothes but there is always a way to be different and unique! Mon arriere-grand pere parisien doit etre fier de moi! ( et ma grand-mere ). Great hint about changing the thread color on buttons! I'm a button collector. The favorite piece in my wardrobe is an oriental silk tunic/jacket with a mandarin collar. I think I love it because my home has so many Asian accents, especially chinoiserie.

So nice to wake up to this freshly posted video and watch in bed with a hot cup of tea, on a very cold and frosty morning. I love ALL these items and I love them for the reasons you outlined. I have not seen your pink mocassins before, and they are beautiful. Absolutely gorgeous. These two style secret videos are my favourites and I hope you do many more. They are so enjoyable and I really love them! I really appreciated the close ups and the only thing I would say is I always enjoy a little modelling or styling of the items as well, to see what they look like on, even items I’ve seen before. Love your hairdo, your fabulous dress, the idea about changing one or more buttons or thread color, and considering a special nostalgic item that could be added to apparel. Great ideas! Small things are big, and tailoring our clothes to our unique lives is a great idea. I have special little items strewn over the house on various shelves. Putting some on clothes sounds so smart!

Keep using this great jazz intro! It immediately brings an exciting "French" mood, reminding me of trips to Paris! The special details I liked are the little back opening on the Lilysilk blouse (sexy?YES!), the sparkle in the blue stripes of your sweater, the one red stripe reflected in the button sewn with red thread! Clever & interesting detail! Love your story that goes with the lionhead clasp on your handbag! What a great detail that immediately brings you a special warm feeling. The gold chain on your pink loafers add an touch of elegance to a lovely shoe! I love the feel of silk on my skin & the look and feel of a leather jacket as a finishing touch! Marie-Anne! You have such a great laugh! I love when you get tickled at yourself. 😂😄 You also have such lovely clothing and accessories. I own a pair of black patent leather peep-toe flats. Across the top part of the shoe, under the peep toe, is a delicate row of flowers running from side to side. Those shoes garner lots of complements. I can't wear heels having broken one of my ankles pretty severely 7 years ago. So shoes like these flats help me feminine. Thanks for a great video! Have a lovely day!! 😘❤

If you haven't done one, you should consider doing a video on how a haircut/hairstyle can really elevate one's look. Your new haircut, more defined and sculpted, really complements your polished and elegant style. It's made more of a difference than all the other style tips you've given, so it's a valuable lesson!

Changing buttons it seems to be a favorite but to see them with a different color thread❤️ You can remake a sweater or top with those details. LOVE the story of your purse and your proposal.
