this was such a funny comment to stumble upon. I'm listening to this album as a nostalgia trip and now, as an adult, thinking about how laughable some of the lyrics on this album are, and how teenage me ate it up. Not saying he hasn’t written good lyrics, but I can see why his music more resonated with teenage me

Victor Hugo Sigoli saturnalia sucks. Overrated and underwhelming track. This is a good song but standout track on HUD is clearly Blood Honey. Simply fantastic!

This song was finished just after his father died; I firsthand witnessed the great relationship they had a couple years ago. Was working at a truck stop, and they stopped in. To me, this song represents a melding or the character and the man. The raw sound of the album is given strength by almost character breaking lyrics. He allows himself to break past the provocative nature of his character, and raw- much like the recording quality, emotion is pushed forward.
