@@theofficialfriendlyretrievers It’s the people providing products and services to the consumer that’s greedy. Prime example: Congress stated in congressional hearing that many colleges are subsidized by the government yet colleges still up their costs to students because they know they’ll get the money from student loans. Money that goes to stockholders not to the students. That’s why tuition is so high. From greed not inflation.

I really don't like how these two are running with this story. Buying a house with that money is not hardship. Needing to feed yourself and helping other family members during the pandemic is. @sandywaters1153 Right! But the whole thing is this, they were looking for her to make a mistake, and she gave it to them. Same thing for Martha. She also may lose her license. Not worth it. Find another way to take your money out where the only thing that happens is that you pay a penalty for taking the money out too early. And pay the taxes on it. She is a lawyer, she knew this. I have seen this happen to a lot of women, and they were made an example of while others got away with it.

I hate her victim mentality! She did wrong. She sat as the top legal leader in the city of Baltimore and committed a crime. So she's need to be held at a higher standard when she do wrong like this, because she knows better. She didn't even do her job while in Baltimore. Crime worsened under her time in the position and continues to worsen to this day. She just needs to do the time (which I don't think will be 40 years) and try to do better and change her attitude during this time. Further more, if she was in "hardship" why would she buy vacation homes in another state. She's such a fraud! Good riddance. Her ex-husband's time is next.

She wasn’t facing 40 years. That’s if you add up all the maximums. The Feds wanted 20 months, which is 1-1/2 years, not 40. What really buried her was her fraud was caught on tape with an arrogant voice saying “I need that money”!! Then she lied saying she was living more than 75 days per year in the house which is an obvious lie. She’s the Baltimore DA and she lives 3 months a year in Florida??

Two homes, she is a criminal, she knows what she was doing, why didn't she help out with all thoes monies by reaching out to the abuse woman shelters, the children's homes, mother's a baby unit, the adult homes, the homeless, these homes are terrible how these vulnerable people are living in these houses in deplorable, dysfunctional, state. She knows exactly that she wasn't entitled to these monies, everyone who is dishonest always believes that public monies are free for all, cause they see everyone taking and nothing has been done to them living like high flyer. All of them must be exposed for their dishonest, disgraceful, disgusting, dysfunctional criminals activities and must get hard labour. In my opinion when they do thier time in prison, they need to go and work in all the government institutions with the children, mother's babies unit, the woman's shelters, and the elderly care homes. No one is above the law. "What does it profit a man to gain this whole wide world and lose thier soul" " Little is much when the divine creator is in it, labour not for wealth or fame, there's a prize and you all will win it, if you all only put you trust in the divine creator ," ✨️ 🙌 🙏 .

You are totally misunderstanding what occurred... She withdrew "HER OWN" 401k monies to purchase the homes... It WAS NOT public funds - I was money she contributed to her retirement fund, that was withdrawn from her paychecks... The crime is that during Covid, a provision was given that early withdraw of the money WOULD NOT BE TAXED, if a person suffered a hardship from Covid... Once she obtained a mortgage for the homes, with her retirement money, she reported her income as $9,000 more than she actually earned, in order to qualify... She also claimed, on mortgage applications, that her husband loan gifted her $5,000 towards the down-payment on the homes... When they audited her account, they determined that she transferred the funds to him - and he later transferred them back, to make it appear as a gift from him... Now I absolutely believe that she knowingly committed a crime.. She avoided a tax penalty for a early withdraw of her "OWN" retirement funds.. I just want people to be clear that she did not defraud the government of Covid relief funds.

Here is my thing. I am Black and have only 1 of Law School not because of grades because I said I would take off a year and that year turned to years. I am saying that to say this. Law school is no walk in the park but it is also is not rocket science. To do all that work then get yourself caught up in something nefarious and not want to take responsibility for it. It really gets my got when folk's own hubris gets in the way of the big picture. Then some of us are so quick to try and play the victim card and makes it real challenging for real victims. I would be willing to bet that her and her ex husband are both crooks. If were anyone else they would have gotten imprisoned with no house arrest.
