When the world was living in 2015, Marina already was in 2021. All those 80 influences, this colours, these retro feelings that only now are getting common (The Weekend, Dualipa, etc...) Marina literally invented the actual Retro pop scene in 2015. And shes in a live concert can be unbelievable better and great than these produced films. What a WOMAN.

I remember a comment saying how marina doesn't actually make music videos for the sake of them, she makes them to match the visual of what she thinks would fit for the song's melody and i absolutely agree! the first part of the video in the chorus [ 1:12 ] where she says for one more night while the rollercoaster was moving gave me the chills. i am personally a huge electropop fan and i feel like this genre of music gives me indescribable euphoria. and marina seems to know how to exactly serve this beauty of a music kind.

I found out about her music only recently, while driving on a long road trip and listening to my daughter’s playlist. I was amazed and had to ask ‘who is that!?’. I must say that her incredible vocal ability, the compositions and her lyrics are supernatural. She is truly one of the few artists that I have been moved enough by to literally stop everything, and want to hear more, [and…as a musician myself, I am very particular! ]. Now that I see how beautiful she is, and what a great performer she is, I am completely taken. What a blessing it is to have such talent exist in our lifetimes. I agree that She deserves a LOT more notice and praise. I hope she continues to make her music for a long time. Cheers.

Am I the only one who thinks this song is really heartbreaking in a way? If I understand these lyrics right, Marina writes that she is sad. She doesn't want to feel "blue" anymore, and she wants love, dreams, and a good self esteem. So she keeps going back to the same person over and over again in hopes that they could heal her and make her happy again. And then in her song "Happy" she says that she finally found that person, and they "watch over her." They give her a purpose and a reason to finally feel happy. The album Froot has so much depth and meaning behind it. Marina is amazing, I really hope she continues to produce music for a really long time.

This is exactly what I understood of these songs too. I've been crying for 2 weeks since I first heard this. This is what I feel right now. It's heartbreaking. If you hear the first line you can see how it relates to "Electra heart"... She writes about being a heartbreaker so in this song she runs away and she breaks up with this person... But she goes back because she regrets it and wants love and good self esteem. Selfish reasons. That's why she doesn't care whether she loves this person or not.

I don't remember that part in 'Happy' but she said that it doesn't mean that she will never be upset it's innate that we all feel pain and get sad, and I don't recall her saying that it was about finding someone it was 'her' finding happiness in herself. 🍋

Agreed. She is commercially successful and has been so for over a decade but she never broke into the mainstream sadly. That being said she was never trying to she has stated she doesn't want that level of fame but she still deserves more so many people out in the world would be her fans if they knew she existed.

This is my favorite single from the FROOTS Era. So brutally honest, cruel, and selfish. There is a huge contrast with the music video where everything is so colorful and fun. She doesn't love the lover, she just needs the attention, the love to get rid of the sadness and low low self-esteem.

This song encapsulates everything that I love about Marina the most. How the song progresses creatively, the thoughtful layers of instrumentation and sounds, and the drama in her voice. Nothing can best Froot, which easily eclipses Love + Fear by a mile. I understand that age mellows people out, something that would indubitably show in their output, but the soul and energy she imparts into her older songs is always something that I'd miss.
