September's light is magical as always, and with the berries coming out in the hedges I'm inspired to work on more autumnal projects. That means heavier yarns, texture and cables, and lots of warm colours. I'm working on a new cables hat and mitten pattern in my hand-dyed yarn, as well as a couple of other knitting projects, and spend a bit of time embroidering autumn leaves on an old jumper to cover up darned sections.

Thanks! I've got into a bit of a habit of adding wool leafiness to old and tatty things and it's the perfect way to transform them into something joyful.

What a lovely and inspiring episode! I so enjoyed your approach to the scrappy sweater, just gathering yarn leftovers and making something so charming. Same with the embroidering on your fathers left-behind sweater covered in autumn color! Thank you!

I love your projects, Marina. The hat is very beautiful, both the colour and the structure. I think I have to get my embroidery-wips out of the drawer .... I'm inspired to do so. Hope to be able to chat with you tomorrow with the other patrons. Digital hugs from Norway (we opened up our country this afternoon - hurra!!!) Merete

Hi Marina. I enjoyed your podcast and was wondering if you have need any more test knitters. I made my first sweater at 9 and 57 years later I am still excited about new patterns and learning new stitches. I would love to try test Knitting! U can find me through Facebook if there is an opening?

Thank you so much! I don't expect test knitters to have experience test knitting at all - however it does help if you're generally comfortable following a knitting pattern. On the link I added to my test-knit mailing list page, there's a little overview of what I expect from testers. It's basically a case of knitting to the deadline and flagging any problems you encounter with the pattern; and I'll generally expect testers to take photos of their project for Ravelry (and Instagram if they use it).

What kind of needles are with the mittens? Is there bamboo and non remember cable?
@MarinaSkua

KnitPicks wooden interchangeable needles with a KnitPro cable. I do not recommend the KnitPro cables; the joints are terrible.
