I love how Marines call cadence and it's not songs with words like the army. It's a sound of sadness and grief mixed with the sounds of strength and valor. It pretty awesome sounding
@tomc78942 ай бұрын
Big difference between marching and running cadence. Each branch has their own. I had a hard time confirming when I switched to the air Force they don't call it cadence they call it Jody. And even though I sounded good and kept it straight they didn't like my cadence calling because it sounded violent.

Saying EFT, IGHT and ATTENNNN----SHUN might instantly give you "Veteran status." However the proper way is to enunciate your commands clearly. The latter is a remnant of when the French were instilling discipline in the US army ranks through DNC. I do enjoy the sounds though.

@@AnakinSkywakka I wasn't medically separated, I was in Parris Island for 2 months and it turns out all of this wasn't for me and if I wanted to be a marine I would have to spend 2-3 extra months to become physically capable of passing boot camp. I failed my IST while trying my absolute hardest. But I've been told that the PFT, CFT, and the crucible is way harder than the IST. But this place taught me so many things, it changed me forever for the better. Short answer, I quit Marine boot camp. My platoon number was 3021, my training company was called Lima company. I was from the 3rd Battalion. Before getting home I was sent to STC/PCP for a month Shortly after I was medically cleared again then I got sent to RSP, and stayed there for another month until I returned everything and got my navy federal bank, then I believe the government gave the flight tickets to go home which was 2-3 hr flight in total, going from Savannah Georgia to Atlanta, then to Pennsylvania Edit: the only thing I brought home was my hygiene bag, my duffle bag, a moonbeam/flashlight, and 2 canteens. Also 3 combination locks lol. I arrived in Paris Island on Jan 10th, and got separated on March 8th.

I stepped onto those yellow footprints at MCRDSD (Hollywood) on 010710 and graduated on 011005 - Plt 2091 2Bn Echo Co. I've now been out for 16 years (3/1), but FOREVER will the cadence resonate within me; everything that the Corps is. ONCE a Marine, ALWAYS a Marine!! Esprit de Corps and Semper Fi!! 🤙🤙🤙

My two sons right out of high school joined a Marine corps. They're four years apart and each one has a separate MOS that keeps them on the West and East coast. When I asked them for some cadence they did not have any juicy ones like in the past. If it wasn't for my memory issues I would write one out. 5 minutes after posting this I might actually remember one. But I know everything changes but the one thing that doesn't is that you do not mess with the Marine corps. Give them hell devil dogs.
