Marine Corps Engineer School executes training to impart occupational and service-level warfighting skills, and provides functional expertise to advocate processes in order to support engineer capability across the Marine Corps. 1371 Class of 1994 and NCO class of 1996. Court House bay looks the same but I noticed a couple more schools were added. Engineers Up! Semper Fi!!

USMC should get rid of MWSS and ESB CE units, make a 3rd CEB (for 3rd MarDiv), and allow poolees that so desire to enlist as a CE DIRECTLY into the 1371 specialty. No more BS'ing around and having good Marines get stuck cleaning air ducts in utilities all day. This would be a huge recruitment tool.

Join the reserves or the national gard except for when you deploy your only at the base 2 days of the month and l have never heard of someone being fired from their job for do what is required as part of there service l am not in the military yet im going to join so l did a lot of research a recruiter can better explain it and combat engineer seems like a mix of the 2

What I've heard a lot is that we should pick an MOS that will help up out in the civilian world for our first deployment/ contract. After that you can go infantry.

Good luck. Unfortunately, we don’t get to choose our MOS. We can just choose our field. Which is good enough for me.

Does anyone know if the engineers in the marines do the same job as a civilian engineer? As in modeling and analyzing data through programs and such.

The marine eng mo you chose can be any thing from a guy who blows shit up(combat eng) to a guy who builds shit(civil eng).

1169 is when all the 11xx jobs combine together for GUNNY you know all the jobs and you are a utilities chief ... Marines engineers. Not combat engineer even thought we are all engineers together just different mos

I’m two years in marines corps air wing maintenance, I want to go combat engineer school I’m talking to my career planner but he told me The problem with that moving is if you fail school you get kicked out so wanted to know how hard is it for easy it is to go drop that a combat engineer in school

I am not in the marine corps yet but l want to join as a combat engineer so l have done alot of research but l got this of the internet so take it with a grain of salt there are 2 ways this is from what l have heard the marine corps says it's the hardest school but then there are people who say they're where/are combat engineers saying you just need to pay attention and do as your told remember this is from the internet so l can't verify it and I'm not a marine yet

I think they changed it to 105 MM for combat engineer with a 3 point waver(meaning you can get in with a MM score of 102).The 13xx Field was with 95 MM now.

You dont get to pick when it's time to select branches you give a top 3 then they tell you where to go

@tonepaw Are you sure? I'm constantly hearing conflicting things about that. I guess it depends on how lucky you are. What month/year did you pick your MOS, and are you sure you picked 1371 and not 1300 and got lucky and ended up in 1371?

In the USMC, as active duty you get to pick what FIELD, but not specific job. In the reserves you get to pick a specific job and written in the contract so they know where you'll be stationed one weekend a month, 2 weeks in summer.

@@oldnite3414 Marine Corps get paid the same, 1161 MOS are a necessity, and you get prepared for a job after serving. It’s pretty worth while, especially if you just joined for the benefits

@@A_Random_Rat You get prepared for a job if that job actually hires you. Theres no guarantee your job in the Marines will transfer to civilian life.
