Still get it to this day But when push came to shove it was always respect first. The most underrated is the Coast Guard. They don't get the respect they deserve. They learn that very specific posture beginning day one of boot camp and it becomes ingrained muscle memory for the whole of their lives thereafter. In this case, the young man’s musculature and physique amplifies the intensity of the posture making it very prominent. That intensity and physical prowess is a hallmark of most marines. Standing at attention for any soldier is their way of giving their full undivided attention where it needs to be, preventing distraction, and is their way of showing formal respect to the person to whom they are giving their attention. Such attention and respect is typically given to those who are of higher rank or to those who have earned it, in this case his father. This ceremony is utterly beautiful. I am glad that they shared it.
