@@zandrmandr8300 If I'm remembering my lore correctly, the SOF is a refurbished colony ship designed to be self sustainable. The SOF maintains its own factories and material refineries which was how they were able to produce new, modern equipment in HW2 and fix the battle damage from HW1 and its own hydroponics bay which I assume is large enough to accommodate its crew and compliment. I think it's got automated drones that were sent to mine asteroids and planets to build up a stockpile of raw materials while she was drifting in space. So theoretically as long as there is a flow of raw materials and a crew to use them, they can last indefinitely.

@@vacif7516 You are correct- the Spirit of Fire is a Phoenix-Class Colony Ship, they also carry pre-fabricated colony units, so a lot of the 'bases' were meant to originally be colonial settlements.

Yeah, read the Karen Traviss books about halo. You can see the real Unsc Infinity there, it was still under construction but it flew on Sangheli to help the arbiter in his civil war, and destroyed a whole elite army in a few seconds by herself. The Unsc in the lore have been able to rebuild most of humanity planets lost in the war in 7 years. And then we have Infinite where humanity lost the war in 2 months

I already have 5 Infinity and the Home Fleet have hit 1 Mil damage points. 😎 3/4 of the galaxy is under UEG/UNSC rule.

The interesting thing is everything you see in halo is entirely possible today, the only problem would be cost since making a frigate that can travel the stars while supporting like 10,000 people would be very damn expensive. The smaller things though like a scorpion or a battle rifle are entirely possible. Infact there are people who have recreated some of the firearms from halo

Exactly. You can tell a lot of modern aesthetics were used when designing everything about the "military of the future". Another game series that does this is Titanfall (before Apex Legends made it all animesque) where the soldiers, weapons, and non-titan vehicles all feel believable, as if they could exist today.

The UNSC would have lost anyway. Covenant industry and technology were far superior. The UNSC was already in war economy mode and still couldn't compete against an Empire that builds you ships over 20km long

@@xXcrizZx Since it was dealing with a long-term insurrectionist problem, you are correct. I think he was referring to the UNSC doing this at full strength. I still see them losing half or the entire outer colonies, but the Inner colonies would've never fallen. The Logistical strain on the covenant would've been too great at that point.

So the UNSC was getting their ass kicked. Bc if we go by your logic the US for example didn't technically lose in the Vietnam War, bc Soviet figures stated if the US didn't pull out from Vietnam the communist would have eventually lost.
