This was our units big fear in Afghanistan in 2011 We had 4 towers set up But we only had full control of 2 of them The Afghan National Army had the other 2 When digging up sand / dirt to fill our Hesco barriers for our Combat OutPost walls We found out we were living on an cemetery So it was Muslim bodies being desecrated by non Muslims Was a WILD time I don't miss that place But I do miss my battle buddies Till we meed again at Fiddlers Green Scouts Out!

Yeah one of the AFPs tried to shoot me too. He got his rifle caught in the hesco barrier when I flanked him. I don't think he got anyone. I was on the center post watch on a tower in the middle of camp. I was just taking a layer off cuz it was getting hot, and he took a shot at me. I got him first. Fucker. Shot at me while I had my flak half off and only one hand on the rifle.

I lost a good friend and former squad leader to a blue on green attack. He had gotten shot in the shoulder a day or two before, but was so tough he refused to miss duty. He got killed while running a range for ANA. those green on blue attacks are scary.

My work beighbor is a former afghan interpreter that did a lot of work with spec ops. He never talks about it, but it's one of the things that lead he and his family to be fast tracked to citizenship. One of the nicest guys I have ever met in my life, and funniest.

Having deployed to both Afghanistan and Iraq, I’ll never understand why we don’t man our own GD towers for security! A few years ago, a defense contracting group from Africa, deployed to Baghdad, they parted like the Red Sea and let the Sadrist Movement right into the compound. After a while, the real trigger pullers on base were like “you’ve had your fun, made your statement, now get the fuck out” and they immediately pulled chalks and left without incident. How many times do blue on green incidents have to happen before we start securing our bases and towers!
