Every year, Marines have to pass a combat fitness test in addition to their regular physical fitness test. At Osan Air Base, Airmen took on the challenge to see where their abilities ranked against their sister service. Technical Sergeant Jenna Armstrong takes us to the field.

I used to work out with a few Marines at Sheppard AFB. Those guys couldn't move weight or flip a tire to save their lives....but they could run ALL day. Ran 3 miles with them and they just taunted me the whole time 😂 I suppose I deserved it, though. Oh, and for those in other branches who think the Marines are dumb, they're not. Some sharp individuals those Marines are. Takes a special person to do what they do. AF life is good, but I often regret missing out on the challenge and brotherhood of the USMC

Two things that come to mind when I see videos like this. 1. Branches need to stop bashing on each other. We’re all brothers in arms. We all stepped up and took our own unique route in the military field. To push and motivate ourselves to seek better. 2. Marines are the best though.

I agree 100%. I was in the Air Force, and some of the guys I worked with were complete idiots. Unfortunately, in my experiences in the military, there was WAY too much of this stupid disputing between sister branches. I've met smart Airmen and I've met smart Marines. I've also met a lot of both who were stupid. The most frustrating was when we used to go party in Myrtle Beach, and constantly run-into young, drunk Marines (and sometimes other Airmen) trying to pick fights. Very sad.

Right sere0321. CAS with the Marine Corps is something we have perfected since the 1930's. The Army Air Corps didn't start working with it until the outset of WWII. The biggest blow to CAS within the Marines came during the Korean War when Gen. Ridgeway took away Marine air assets and spread them for the other services (namely the Army). Air Force Sabres were mainly used for aerial combat and the bombing and strafing of railyards and factories in the North and China.

I think LT GFX is on to a very important point, If you serve or die for your country does it really matter what hat / cover you wear.? As for some of the respondents to this vid (and others). The Military claims to make MEN; problem is they don't always make mature men. I really enjoy the comments section though, because it's such a great pulpit for branch of service and unit groupies most of whom have probably never served their country in any capacity.

We all have a part to play, and yes the Air Force has ground combat people, Para Rescue, Combat Controllers, Security Forces and more, hell when I went to SF school, now this was a while ago and I know it's changed but half our class were Marines and half were were AF in the end we were all best of friends, many comments from our Marine brothers were dam we thought you guys were just like the Navy you guys can definitely hang, shit I went to a special weapons course and no kidding the instructors rated the Marines better at CQB than the Navy SEALS and us not far behind. I know a lot of you Marines are saying bull shit but we train to fight against the enemies Special Forces groups, Navel Infantry/Marines so we have to be good at what we do with a couple billion dollars worth of Aircraft on the flight line. We are brothers weather you like it or not and I know most people in the Air Force have the utmost respect for the people in the United States Marine Corps. And I know people in the Marine Corps who have really been in the shit and had a couple of A-10's roll in and put steel on target won't ever talk shit about the USAF.

I'm just saying ...the exception proves the rule. Yea there are hard corp PJ's and Controllers..etc...but come on man. They are like...1% of 1% of the total? Even the Corps has its POGes....but the Air Force is mostly comprised of them. Every time someone says the Chair force is soft PJ's automatically get brought up. What are there like 300 of them? The reason everyone busts Air Force balls is how they show up in theater with all the good steaks and beer...easy duty and then they rub that shit in everyone's face who has to sleep in a hole they dug eaten by flies while some Airman sits in an Ice cold personal trailer with a mattress, mini fridge and Satellite TV. That's why people find them irritating....they get hazard duty pay in a place we go to get safe and relax.
