I tried out the new Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC Booster Pass Wave 3 tracks, and needless to say they are fantastic... but the BEST new feature they added was the ability to choose which items are allowed in a race, even if its only ONE item...

This is somehow the MOST violent Mario Kart has ever been! An 11/10 experience, would totally play again. Remember kids, if you're losing in Mario Kart, resort to violence with bombs, bullets, blue shells and anything made with gunpowder.

I was excited to finally turn off Spiny Shells and Lightning because they’re my most frustrating items. But I was even more excited that this kind of Nightmare Shellscape is actually possible!

You have to turn on the items in crazy eight individually. If you don’t, it just includes Mushrooms automatically

Actually, I think for certain other item combos, single mushrooms are also just… added into it for a reason I can’t quite figure out

@Rockinggamerdude: Crazy 8 is still distance away from first, and position base, also only one crazy 8 can be active at a time, so picking Crazy 8 all alone would not work. And if it did, this would happen the item the crazy 8 have would just de-spond when someone else activated Crazy 8, and it would only be mushroom and coins, even thought mushroom and coins where not selected, this is because it count as ground item not roullette item, for the same reason ghost item on its own will steal single mushroom from the cargo, because it count as ground item. Other proof if you have blooper only with crazy 8 and you manage to get a crazy 8 if they are too many activated blooper on the screen the crazy 8 will be mix with blooper, coins, single mushroom. Maple treeway leaf pile can still give you single mushroom when you have all mushroom turn off.

@Rockinggamerdude: Tip with Crazy 8 on its own, if you do not like that it turn on single mushroom by default, just go back cancel it and turn on tripple mushroom instead, so when you get crazy 8 you will have a supprise but you will only notice it if you pay attention.

2:23 pretty sure boo is one of the very few items you can't only have enabled, since boos can't steal boos so mushrooms get enabled as well the other item is the crazy 8

you don't actually receive the mushroom from the roulette, you get it from the boo if there's no item to steal.

As someone who has played Bob-ombs Only in the past with buddies, it is very brutal if you're in the pack. Once you start frontrunning though, you've pretty much already won.

Blue shells are the only thing in Mario Kart that has ever made me swear during gameplay. Imagine you're about to win, then some goof hits you with a red shell and then another hits you with the blue shell, and they do it right over a cliff, and you end up finishing in last place. Everyone laughed (including me) they were all "wow, you made Ankhara swear, impressive!".

My major hope for the DLC is that they fix the one lingering problem with the game that continues to go unresolved: The fact that N64 Rainbow Road is one lap, three sections, instead of being three laps, as God intended.

me and my brother have been enjoying bullet bills and blue shells. The bullet bills are immune to the blue shells and it makes for some craaazy results. I think the strat is to stay out of first with a bullet and then use the bullet in the last few corners to get to first. We also did the boos once but it was just mushrooms the whole time so we turned it off.

I hope they didn’t patch the mushroom blue shell trick. You boost with a mushroom item on just the last frame a blue shell connects and you just boost through it.

The items list is like in the Super Smash Bros. games. You can even have only Smart Bombs in SumaBura, and it would be the same as having only Blue Shells in Mario Kart.

For some items like stars and bombs you can have The crazy 8 item and just that one item and you'll get a full 8 bombs or whatever item if you get the crazy 8. It's insane.
