I actually feel like the inverted night themes could make for some cool levels, but they are very situational

Idea: Cinematic mode Every feature is given additional dramatic effects! Stomping on enemies will trigger a tragic death scene, jumping more than 4 blocks wide will cause a dramatic slow-mo with a heartbeat effect as you try to cross the gap, and dying will lead to a heavily edited replay of your death to highlight how utterly heartbreaking it was!

honestly, having Mario be upside-down while everything else is normal sounds like a better idea than the night cave that we got

Rejected Update: Nabbit is added! He plays the same as in Wii U where he doesn’t take any damage to anything

Rejected Update: Hallucination Flower It looks like a regular Fire Flower, but when you touch it, everything looks like what you see during an acid trip. This will work perfectly for all troll levels!

A pizza powerup: grabbing it makes mario sit down for 10 seconds while he eats the entire thing, nothing else happens.

The homing skewers may actually be a good idea, but you’d have to also make them smaller so it’s actually avoidable

I can see sticky ground being a troll way to test if the player knows how to control their jump height.

Now, you can hide things behind semi-solids, so you can hide cool contraptions and improve the aesthetic of your level! I’m sure everyone will use it for good!

Rejected Update: We know how much you guys loved the Link power up, so we decided to add another fan favorite character! Pink Gold Peach has her own power up now! She plays just like Mario, but she is constantly chased by an angry mob, which can kill enemies, but also yourself! I hope you guys enjoy this new character!

The 21st installment in the Mario Maker 2 Rejected Updates series brings more weird and crazy ideas; Inverted night themes (where what happens in the night theme is the opposite), an Atari mode which showcases a title screen level, homing skewers that would make it impossible to dodge them, a Frogified Thwomp which uses its tongue as a grappling hook, the feature from Story Mode where Luigi offers course parts to make a level easier appearing as a main feature, an AI making a level, a spinning cannon that goes in all directions, a version of the ON/OFF Switch that makes the Nintendo Switch turn off, and finally a clear condition where the goal appears when the player is in rage mode. I wonder what the next installment will contain.

Rejected Update: Sinkhole, when Mario is on the sinkhole block, the blocks around him and where he is, will all fall down. Trying to escape will be to hard so you have to wait for six days for the sinkhole to go away for him to continue.

Rejected update: The axe that appears at the end of castle levels will hurt or kill Mario when he touches it and Mario cannot clear the castle level unless he has invincibility.

rejected: since no raging and the must rage clear objectives are so fun we now have a clear objective that makes it so that you cant blink. If the system detects that you blink or look away. It will poke you in your eyes

I actually like the idea at 1:46. I think there should legitimately be a level making/generating video game where you're able to give a description containing no more than 200 words. An alternate method of doing this could be to provide a list or menu so that people could select things they want to see generated in the level.

Tbh, the inverted night themes don't sound that bad. They might be pretty fun to use.

Gentlemen Enemies: they all wear fedoras and if you’re playing as Toadette they’ll get out of your way, like a true *Neckbeard*

Rejected Update: Since we made the thwomp have powerups such as the frog suit in our last rejected updates video, we're allowing you to add powerups like that to any enemy! Now you can add things like a cape bowser which flies toward you Or a Sledge bro riding a yoshi while wearing a spiky helmet! The Possibilities are endless!

Rejected update: Now, there is a new feature! Now you can set the themes to Little Timmy levels! This will be so much fun having so many little Timmy levels on your level page!

We know about boo rings, but now we introduce, thwomp rings. Once you go under one, or inside one, all the thwomps will go spinning down until they hit the ground. Classic.

Rejected: Since we have the poison mushrooms now we are adding the poison star! Every star placed has a 50% change of killing you!

Rejected Update: You've shown off Frog Thwomps, but that's just a bit limited. Now you can apply any power up to ANY enemy.

Love how this series is still going!

Idea: a brand new power-up! Called the dino 'shroom. This power-up will turn Mario into a Triceratops and now we will have a stamina and now you can press A to charge up and knock everything in your path! If the stamina runs out you will take damage and the power-up will be gone.

Ideas: - Luigi's Mansion Course Theme - Homing Lava Bubbles - Homing Snake Blocks - Sledge Bro ground pound kill everything instead of stunning it, including you - Bitcoins (That one's a freebee, do what you will with it) - Warioware Mode, design your own warioware games - FNF mode where you make Friday Night Funkin' levels with the note blocks. - The Eject Block makes your cartridge fire out of your switch upon touching it.

Textboxes: Remember textboxes from Mario World? Well, we're adding them back! You can let people know what something is, or troll people. You can set if someone can press A to progress, or wait a certain time for the textbox to disappear! People'll definitely have fun with it!

Idea: People are accidentally throwing their switches away and losing progress in a level. So now when you play the game, your hands will be glued to the system so you won't lose any progress.

Feature/Rejected Update: Player modifier trigger/block. With the player modifier, you can edit ANYTHING with the player, from how fast you go, to how high you jump, to how tall you are, how transparent you are, and it goes on and on! Simply place it in the stage, and when you pass the trigger, watch as all hell breaks loose! Timmy will love this one!

Khalon: Rejected Update Idea: “The No-Face Statue”: It’s very rare for this mid ground statue to appear, but in other backgrounds besides the castle, it makes it more rare. Also, if you click & hold that statue, you’d earn entire outfits if Chiherom (the main character in Spirited Away), No-Face (that dark spirit that grows bigger if it eats food, & changes shape if it eats someone.) & other characters that are major, & minor characters that mostly talked in the movie. (Make sure that it’s you know that you got them.)

Rejected Update Idea (plus script): We're unveiling a new game theme and it's... Sonic The Hedgehog! However, it's not just the original. It's the GBA Port! So when you play levels in this theme, your momentum will go all over the place! Plus, when you make levels in this theme, you'll go all over the place too! Enjoy your only Maker version of Sonic The Hedgehog! Just try not to accidentally hit the rocket when you go to the Course Bot button!

Rejected Update: The Extra Cursed Key! It Spawns random enemies anywhere! Imagine how much fun that would be.

New type of sound effect: Voice recording. Similar to the bird voice recording sound effects in the first Super Mario Maker, except you can record anything with no time limit. The craziest thing with this update is that you can add recordings of copyrighted music into your levels.

Rejected update: Fuzzies! As in the ones from Yoshi’s Island. If you touch one, the screen will get wobbly. The more fuzzies you touch, the more wobbly the screen will become. Touch too many fuzzies, and you literally won’t be able to tell anything that’s happening!

Idea: more Blinking Block Variants - You can make it bigger - You can make it smaller - Make it a blast block (the blocks from blast block skyway/champions road) - Make it a turbo block (changes every 0.001 seconds)

Rejected update: Lego power up turns you into Lego Mario, Lego Luigi, Lego toad, and Lego toadette and it can connect to the Lego Mario app on you phone/tablet plus you can also connect your Lego Mario figure to your switch and that is the only way to move your character in the game once you get this power up Edit: and if you don’t have the Lego figure of the character you have then you can’t move just think of how fun this would be 👍🏾

Mega hammer: breaks all of the ground

The splatoon inkling girl: can shoot enimes and can swim in the ground and can super jump to the end

Rejected Idea: Mobile game mode, this means that instead of being a normal Mario Maker, there are ads that play at the beginning, and end, and when you do literally anything, and if you die, you have to play real money, and just throw in some Microtransactions to play, and make levels.

Rejected update: gatling cannon: this cannon fires at the nearly speed of light so good luck dodging

Rejected update: DannyB merch customs; a new customs will have a DannyB logo

Rejected Update Idea: Scripulous fingore When Mario touches the Scripulous fingore, he gets killed instantly.

Rejected Update: Lego Brick; If Mario steps on it, he immediately dies. That’s it.

Rejected update: Spikes (enemy) can throw spikes in both directions.

Rejected Update: We're bring back the ice flower but it has its differences. If you play a lava or desert level you'll have 20 seconds before you get evaporated, For a snow level you'll get 14 seconds before you get freeze'd

Phase Mushroom: Makes Mario able to phase through anything, including the ground!

Rejected idea:the ennemy powerup, you can now equip every ennemy whith all of the powerup up in the game.Just imagin the fun you will have trying to beat a pyro hammer bro,or a propeler flying koopa !

The fan power up it blows enemies away whenever you press down, but also pushes you back, and only blows enemies in the direction you are looking at. So it can push you into a hole and blow enemies away!

Rejected Update Idea: reversed powerups. Unlike the original powerups, the reversed powerups do the exact opposite of what they usually do. The Reversed Super Mushroom can make you weaker instead of bigger and able to break bricks, the Reversed Cat Bell will turn you into Dog Mario instead of Cat Mario, and the Reversed Star will instantly kill you instead of making you Invincible. They also disguise as the original powerups so It’ll be very fun figuring out which one is the real one. This totally won’t make anybody unsatisfied. (You can apply reversed powerups to enemies as well)

Idea: Now every single bush/flower from every single theme will show up on every single ground block! Watch as cave mushrooms sprout out of desert sand, desert cacti grow underwater, and snowmen literally appear underneath the lava!

the ideas of inverted-night snow and desert as well as homing skewers (if done right) actually sounds fun

A burger in a glass box powerup, stops mario in his tracks then he sits there looking at it for eternity.

Rejected Update: The your mom block, one you hit it, its so fat you bounce to the start of the end of the level, breaking everything in your path, including the goal post and the level borders, or up or down (up you go to space, down you go to the core of the planet), depending on where you hit it. This could be paired with the reskin update to disguise it as anything. You can also make a one-sided your mom block, which bounces you to the start or end of the level depending on the side its a your mom block. Hope to get this added to the 21st installment on ths wonderful series!

Rejected update: the devil's little black plant, it fly snd walk too

Rejected idea: IKEA collaboration ! Instead of placing them normally like an actual person, you have to build... every... single... part, even bowser. Good luck spending your entire afternoon building... a block, or a goomba, or even the goalpole!

Rejected update idea: Blocks and clear conditions that have to do with liking or booing. Go bananas.

Rejected Update: Since the the ice flower isn’t in Mario maker 2, we’re taking revenge by making it bounce on the ground forever and make anything it touches (including the flagpole) be frozen

Rejected update: Warp pipe, but when you enter it, you're stuck forever!

Rejected idea: boat. Like the tank and helicopter, but you just float through the water levels and through blocks knocking enemy's on the way

Rejected update: touch grass clear condition: you must go outside and touch grass while beating the level. Rejected update 2: Zelda goombas, they can attack the player, throw bombs, explode stuff, and shoot!

I actually like the homing skewers(if the skewers can be blocked by blocks). I can imagine having a level with a boss where you have to hide under blocks but to hurt the boss you have to exit it and you have to time it

Rejected idea - Mario Party dice block, which forces you to move the number of spaces on the dice

Idea: cannons that fire at light speed. They shoot so fast you literally can’t make it past. There are also no invincibility frames, so it is a literal one hit knock out. This will be very fun!

People keep losing their switch now, now it ties you to it so you don’t forget it
