Oh hey, nice. It's cool to see there's still some steam in the Mario Maker community. It was a lot of fun making the trailer for Luwuka and Mang's Boom Boom World, they're a true power couple in this game.

Finally!

Hey all, I'm the creator of DarkDaniel World, one of the last trailers showcased here. Just wanted to say that, strictly speaking my world is about 80% done. I'm estimating that by end of May/Early June it will be fully complete. It's perfectly playable as is, but you'll notice that it does kinda fizzle out at the end sadly. I promise the final version will have an actual, climactic final level (working on it now, it is in fact, it's nuts...) I wanted to make the deadline for this direct and having this to strive has been very helpful to keep me focused. Now that work is winding down as summer approaches, I should be able to devote more time for it. I'll be sure to come back to this video then to both comment on when it's done buuuuuut also so I can see find all the world codes and play some of the cool stuff I've seen here!

A few things I would like to comment on: I do wish there was some quality control on all the videos, as they each seem to have various levels of quality and enjoyment. For example, why does the video at 5:40 have poor audio quality? I would play these but my switch online ran out unfortunately.

Why is luwuka so gay for boom boom?

OPINIONS ON EVERY WORLD IN THIS DIRECT: Groovy world: Looks decent. Some stuff feels a bit weird but overall it's good. MarioH world: The decoration isn't good and I see stolen Rimea ideas. The level design is decent, I'll give it that. SMLand 3: Can't even praise this for anything. The decoration is awful and the levels are flat as I've played them. Creator also has a record of plagiarism. Mario Starry Skies: Doesn't look too bad but the decoration needs some work. Tomato World 3: Looks simple but still good. NSMBR Goombas revenge: It looked promising for about 30 seconds, before I noticed about 40% of the stuff is straight up plagiarised from other SMM2 worlds and NSMB mods. Decoration is pretty bad too. Sorry. SMB Adventure: Looks ok, albeit kinda generic. Luigi World: SharkyGW made this so automatically its good. Play his other world if you haven't (this world apparently replaces it so hurry if you want to play it in super world mode.) SMW2: This is straight up just a block for block clone of SMW Koopalings Strike Back. Search the trailer by Aegis Cook up on youtube then play the original levels and you'll see what I mean. Report them if you can btw. Brainburst world: Looks fun, I might actually play it if i have time. Boom Boom world: Out of every world here, this is the one i reccomend playing. It's challenging, but it oozes creativity. Definitely play this if you have time. NSMBFlux: I appreciate the uh... honesty of the trailer.. 💀 This seems like a decent world. DarkDaniel world: I feel like instead of focusing one one mechanic per world, it shouldve focused on a genre of mechanics. Swinging claws could be just mechanical items, Thwomps could be stone items, etc. NSMBLand: Sorry that I havent had much positive to say but this just isn't good. The decoration is very bad and the world lacks any original ideas. I've watched the streams of the levels being made and literally 80% of the time he was just mixing around the hard blocks in the ground. Bosses arent good either, theyre just koopalings with a REALLY generic arena. Also that logo is just 💀 Mario The Eternal Star: Looks good and I'll probably play it. Some parts look weird but overall looks fun. Conclusion: Sorry if I'm being "negative" but I'm just being honest here. This direct accurately represents the state of SMM2 rn. Theres a few good worlds being made, but most of the good level designers just quit the game to do other things in life. The people who didn't? Mainly just 13 year olds. They steal ideas to oblivion and their levels feel soulless. Mid worlds aside, the editing on this direct was pretty great.
