In this episode of "James and Mike Mondays" the guys take a look at one of the most unique SNES games -- Mario Paint!
Released in 1992 on the Super Famicom and SNES, it was a creative media game developed by Nintendo. Originally included with Mario Paint, you take control of the SNES mouse and create animations, draw pictures or compose music. There's even a title screen and fly swatting minigame!
Mario Paint was an exciting alternative for anyone that didn't have a computer or keyboard at the time. It provided hours of entertainment and inspired many to continue animating, drawing or composing. To date, many people still use Mario Paint and upload contemporary songs using the music generator.

I’m amazed that he could create such good art on Mario Paint! That takes more than just artistic talent; as he says earlier in this episode, it’s much harder to draw with a mouse than with a stylus.

I love Mario Paint because it resembles just what makes Nintendo so great. They never do what you'd expect them to do. They take the simplest concept and make it fun and engaging. Their use of ingenuity and innovation makes their games endlessly memorable and enjoyable. There's a certain charm that cannot be matched. Nintendo could've easily made a super cheap and basic art platform, but instead they throw in all sorts of unique and goofy gimmicks that turns simple mouse-and-click painting into hours of fun!

There's similar features on WarioWare DIY whenever you color in things for Micro-games, and creating comic strips, and one of the erasing tools could make it look like whatever you're erasing is exploding! They even played the Mario Paint theme whenever you import the public domain Mario Paint Micro game and you try to edit it!

I have been a huge fan of James and Mike for a long time but I honestly cant remember the last time I have ever laughed so hard because of Mike as I did at 10:19
