As a 2d mario guy, I'm insanely hyped for this game. Wild how creative and stylistic it looks, it seems more like a yoshi's island game in a really good way.

honestly i really like that they're moving away from the new soup artstyle. don't get me wrong, it was great, but they just became so afraid of change and it just got boring. i'm really excited for this

A really interesting detail is that it looks like Yoshi is an actual player character and not just a power up, but as Yoshi can be flutter jump and have other characters ride him it seems like there’s going to be actual substantial differences between the characters.

This is why I love Nintendo as a developer. The way they know they can release the same game over and over again and that it'll continue to sell millions each time, only to randomly go "nah that's boring lets take a risk" and pump out something unique and creative. I find that so charming

I mean, they make a winning formula, and then expand on it with SOLID polish for a while.A And then once it's starts getting stale, they break the conventions and change stuff. On paper, they did this the longest with Zelda. But even then Majora's Mask, Wind Waker and Skyward Sword had wildly different stuff from Ocarina of Time. But still the same foundation. TP was like a solid vanilla variant of Ocarina of Time, as Wolf Link and Twilight Realm were not something that made the experience wildy different.

The artstyle looks like the artstyle of the newer Mario & Luigi games in 3d to me. Definitely exciting plus it looks like they took the criticism about the New Super Mario Bros. games mostly being just more of the same really to heart.

@@IllusoryCrescent Yea Deluxe is just a port with slight changes (arguably downgrades), and Luigi U included. Definitely not a new entry nor even a true remaster. One could also count the Maker games, or the mobile game, but I don't lol. I'd actually lean towards saying there hasn't been an entirely new 2D Mario since NSMB on DS in 2006, since the subsequent releases were all "direct" sequels!

• There’s British flowers making remarks about your actions • Characters went from the background to the foreground in one of the levels • A powerup that makes no sense whatsoever (it makes tubes bend? what?) • A new toad-type bulb creature. I always assumed that shyguys are supposed to be the Luigi to the toads, but ig not?? This reminds me of the bean-bean kingdom thing they did in a Mario rpg

Hi CJ, big fan could you and 7 other speed runners, using the Mario Odyssey multiplayer mod do an 8 player all moons or 100% speedrun. I think you could bring the world record down by a few hours!

tbh I saw some pictures and short videos about this game but I finally decided to fully watch a video about it and it was this and I’m actually surprised 😂 cj got the same thoughts as me too. The trailer actually does look interesting and usually im a fan of the new supe style but I actually do wanna see something new, and I get to play Luigi so this probably just sold me 😂
