Thank you! I had a tougher time getting Perfect! home runs with Kuribo, Patakuribo, Diddy Kong, and Dixie Kong. This was actually pretty good distance for Waluigi, considering there was no chemistry on the field. Making perfect contact is vital for the really weak characters. You gotta get that sweet spot of the bat on the ball. Chemistry also makes a really big difference. Find out who the batter has chemistry with and get those characters on base ahead of time. I actually recently played and managed to hit a homerun with Waluigi (even twice, one time in Bowser's Castle no less - and almost got a third one also in Bowser's Castle but it was barely foul sadly). I think the key is to swing late with Waluigi so as to hit to left field (since his opposite field hitting is stronger).

It is nearly impossible unless you have him as a star character, he does in fact get a pretty big boost in power, for his power standards anyways

The roster, tight controls, animation, music, sound effects, stadium designs, opening & closing clips, Bob-omb Derby, Challenge Mode, chemistry amongst players, special moves, and the hidden 5-Star home run swing.

It's certainly deeper than I realized back in 2004 and in 2009. I didn't even know about 5-Star Home Runs until around 2018. There's also the special catches some of the characters can make. Pitching and hitting are fairly simple, as they should be for a Nintendo sports game. Challenge Mode is a fun, adventurous way to learn the ins and outs of the venues as well as upgrade characters. It even has mini-games and a tutorial section.

Thanks. I managed to include some star pitches in both of the videos. Some of them are tough to hit, like Princess and Daisy. I couldn't figure out Donkey Kong's at all. I think I'm supposed to watch the shadow instead of the banana, but who the hell knows. My favorite is Hammer Bro. He has those unique camera angles at home plate. I think it would be hilarious to see MLB players perform some of them during actual games. As a side note, I can't believe how many Mario Superstar Baseball videos I've uploaded. And I'm not even finished! It's kind of absurd. But I just love this game so much and have a ton of footage.

The only batters I feel come close to being considered "broken" are King Koopa and King Teresa. In my experiences, those two are ridiculous when it comes to home runs. Donkey Kong, Hammer Bro, and Boomerang Bro aren't too far off. If by "batting", you just mean getting on base, then I'm not sure who the most consistent has been for me.

@@bubufubu Oh, I meant by getting homeruns. I could remember that in mario superstar baseball and sluggers hammer bro effortlessly got home runs, while when I used other power type characters like DK, pianta, bowser, or wario, it's mostly just sending the ball in the outfield lel.

Wario isn't a problem for me and I love his bat! =) Neither is Boomerang Bro. In fact, he's one of my favorite home run hitters. He's just beastly. I've hit way too many homers with King Teresa to call it a struggle, but the swing animation does still fool me on occasion. For me, Monte's bat is similar to Kinopiko in that it's almost like an optical illusion. I struggle just to make contact with both of them. Monte's bat is a large chunk from a palm tree for goodness sake, so you'd think it would make for a very powerful & consistent bat. But not for me. =/

@@yaboishinyhuntingaustin3651 Did you watch the tutorials? They are very helpful. You have to find the sweet spot on the bat. It also helps to charge up your player while you wait for the pitch. Watch the tutorials and train. After that, play the "Challenge" mode and earn a star for all the players you like. It's easier to get home runs when your player is starred. Getting "Perfect!" home runs requires a lot of practice, though. Just keep at it.

I've never played Sluggers. Only watched footage of it here on KZfaq. Judging by animations and the ridiculous roster it has, I want no part of it. It honestly looks to be at least a few steps down from Superstar.

bubufubu i’d say it’s worth a shot honestly. Both of these games have something to enjoy in them that keeps me coming back to each from time to time.

@@BasedToastnt Superstar is my favorite baseball game, for multiple reasons. I highly doubt that I'd find the game play to be better in Sluggers.

@@bubufubu I guess it really depends on what you grew up with. I've been wanting to play superstar baseball pretty bad, but I'll always come back to sluggers for the simple fun gameplay. Both are very similar except in batting styles.

As far as I know, that's not a feature in this game.

@@bubufubu Just I could NEVER hit homers with Mario. Luigi I could. But never Mario. Don't know why Luigi got several perfect hits though. I wasn't sure if there was a learning curve to make the perfect hits easier.

@@bluewulv Always make sure you know where the sweet spot on the bat is and wait for the CPU to toss a charged up pitch. Try that out and see if it helps.

@@bubufubu I wonder if some characters have bigger sweet spots though. I got it with Shy Guy Luigi and Toadsworth, but sadly Mario not so much. If this gets reported to switch I can try, but man. Would've thought Mario would be one of the easier homer hitters.

@@bluewulv It's possible the sweet spots vary in size, but I doubt it. The only issue for me has been the visual differences between the bats. It's always been relatively easy for me to hit home runs with Mario. He's much more dependable than some other characters.

It's an option on the lineup screen after you have selected your players and the difficulty.

It's easier to answer that when it's specific to home runs. For most characters, the stats don't matter and you can get on base relatively easily if your timing and reflexes are good. For home runs, my most consistent characters are King Koopa, Donkey Kong, Boomerang Bro, Hammer Bro, and King Teresa.
