I was born in 1993 but grew up on records because of my dad. My mamaw called one day and said she had found a record but wasn't sure if it would be suitable for me because of the album cover. It was Bat Out of Hell. Dad said just listen to it and you'll change your mind. She couldn't believe the beautiful music that poured out of that record. One of the best records I've ever been gifted.

I remember first hearing the Celine Dion version without knowing it was Steinman and thinking to myself that sounds like it would be a Steinman/Meatloaf song. So glad they were able to make it into this version. Celine’s version is great but this was just meant to be. One of the great music duos in history reunited. RIP Meatloaf

@@themoores9817 it’s crazy that it’s exactly that. Every song that Steinman wrote that others have sung that I’ve been checking out the last week that I’ve heard I had always liked not knowing they were his and then I can hear them in my head with Meat Loaf singing and think they all would’ve been bigger hits. There were so many songs left on the table because of management from both sides not wanting them to work together according to Meat Loaf.

There were nights when the wind was so cold That my body froze in bed if I just listened to it right outside the window There were days when the sun was so cruel That all the tears turned to dust and I just knew my eyes were drying up forever I finished crying in the instant that you left And I can't remember where or when or how And I banished every memory you and I have ever made But when you touch me like this (touch me like this) And you hold me like that (hold me like that) I just have to admit that it's all coming back to me When I touch you like this (touch you like this) And I hold you like that (hold you like that) It's so hard to believe but it's all coming back to me now It's all coming back It's all coming back to me now There were moments of gold and there were flashes of light There were things I'd never do again but then they'd always seemed right There were nights of endless pleasure It was more than any laws allow-baby, baby! If I kiss you like this (kiss you like this) And if you whisper like that (whisper like that) It was lost long ago but it's all coming back to me If you want me like this (if you want me like this) And if you need me like that (if you need me like that) It was dead long ago but it's all coming back to me It's so hard to resist and it's all coming back to me I can barely recall, but it's all coming back to me now.... But you were history with the slamming of the door And I made myself so strong again somehow And I never wasted any of my time on you since then! But if I touch you like this (touch you like this) And if you kiss me like that (kiss me like that) It was so long ago but it's all coming back to me If you touch me like this (touch me like this) And if I kiss you like that (kiss you like that) It was gone with the wind but it's all coming back to me now It's all coming back It's all coming back to me now There were moments of gold and there were flashes of light There were things we'd never do again but they'd always seemed right There were nights of endless pleasure It was more than all your laws allow-baby, baby, baby! When you touch me like this (touch me like this) And when you hold me like that (hold me like that) It was gone with the wind but it's all coming back to me When you see me like this (see me like this) And when I see you like that (see you like that) Then we see what we want to see-all coming back to me The flesh and the fantasies-all coming back to me I can barely recall, but it's all coming back to me now.... If you forgive me all this (forgive me all this) If I forgive you all that (forgive you all that) We forgive and forget and it's all coming back to me now It's all coming back to me now We forgive and forget And it's all coming back to me now....

The thing about love, is nothing compares to your first love. It’s hard to explain. It’s even harder to forget. The tears and years that have gone by. The ghosts of past haunt your memories. Songs you have shared. Folly of youth may mean nothing to some. But to others, they can cry a River of regret and love haunts them. Because they never get over the first love.

I loved the Celine Dion version but there was always something missing whenever i heard it. And then I found out it was originally writen for Meatloaf and i was like that was what was missing. I wouldve loves to her Meatloaf and Celine do the duet but this version right here was absolutely perfect in every way. Classic Meatloaf story telling from some Jim's finest writing. RIP Meatloaf and Jim Steinman, I will always be eternally grateful for all of the amazing songs, stories, and memories. Just know you touched so many lives over many generations! Love you forever and always❤

As this song is sung, even by its author (Meatloaf with Marion Raven's gorgeous voice), it has a richer interpretation than the amazing Celine Dion, who also gave a 5-star performance of this song, a few years later... Effectively Meatloaf composed this masterpiece of exceptional quality, like all his other works...

It was Jim Steinman who composed this song along with a large quantity of Meat Loaf's music. Jim also composed "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and "Holding Out for a Hero" by Bonnie Tyler, this same song sung by Celine Dion, and countless others

When I lived in England there were three celebrities who when they arrived were invited on just about every talk show, music show, cooking show, sometimes at football games. Lionel Ritchey, Donnie Osmond and Meatloaf. they became real people not just entertainers, it was marvelous.
