To be honest, they look like they are more mirin' than creeping. She is jacked, lifting more than them, looking frickin' awesome and being recorded doing it. I am sure everyone would look. If a dude came in and benched 500 lbs while being recorded, they would probably look too, but no one would accuse them of creeping.

I just finished my first powebuilding day today, my ass definetely got kicked (but it was really good, 1 hour) . Definetely leave the ego out of this and think very carefully the weight that you choose for your first set, you often have to maintain that for 3-4 more sets of 12-15 reps. I don't really know why I'm commenting this, just pay attention to Marisa.

Depends on the lifter/main lifts(not sure if Marisa posted all of her accessories here for time sake). Also the first few weeks are lighter on everything including amount of lifts per workout. I am two months into my program and have seen plenty of shoulder volume.

I can never squat that close. I don't know if it's something you can retrain yourself to do to some extent. I thought it was more so or solely due to the shape of the neck of the femur and possibly other body structures that predict natural comfortable squat width

What is the difference between this and the powerlifting A.I. program and what would be the best to choose if I'm a beguinner powerlifter. I ask this because even though Marisa is a powerlifter she is using the powerbuilding A.I. so I would want to know whats different.
@Felix-78
@Felix-78 5 жыл бұрын
Basically volume. You change the goals per block and manage those by adjusting volume and intensity like in the video. You can’t keep getting stronger all the time. At one point you need to start adding extra muscle to your frame to keep progressing. And for that You need to increase the volume. Any beginner program will be fine. The tricky part comes when you lifted for a while and start programming for yourself.
@luciocastro1418
@luciocastro1418 5 жыл бұрын
@@Felix-78 yeah but the Powerlifting A.I. program has hypertrophy blocks as well, so it also manages high volumes periods so I don't what the difference is with this one.
@Felix-78
@Felix-78 5 жыл бұрын
This one seems to be primarily focused on the hypertrophy through volume and the one you are describing sounds more strength focused with some hypertrophy work.

Awesome! I have noticed more and more people in the powerlifting world starting to catch onto powerbuilding. Personally I've been training this way since way back in 1986...I actually took this up after reading a HIT article in MuscleMag of none other than the "Shadow" himself, Dorian Yates. HIs simple approach to creating a strong, powerful physique made complete sense. The best part about it is that you don't have to change a thing even is you're powerlifting for comp...I haven't and yet I still keep getting stronger and bigger at age 50...naturally! I only train 3 to 3 and half hrs per week ..M-W-F..Upper Body, Lower Body Split with weekends always off. I always pick just a few exercises and then accessories. Everything is done at High Intensity and with few sets after warm-ups. Like Dorian used to say, " You can hit a stick of dynamite with a pencil all day long but if you hit it with a jackhammer once or twice, watch what happens". Anyway, great video and I'm glad people are finally starting to catch on. Saludos!

Just finished day two. Thoughts are A LOT OF VOLUME!!!! Something I am not used to. A lot of 4 set 15 rep movements. The leg thing just about killed me. It took me longer than 45 minutes but we will see. I agree with the phone and sheets things. I wrote everything down and anticipated as she did. I keep the phone to check myself but that does work better.

I find it pretty hard to work out with this much intensity when I have a full time job and also help out at the family business on the weekends. I used to do 5 days a week workouts that included a mix of powerlifting and bodybuilding (so powerbuilding I guess) but I came to realize that my body just can't handle that much stress. So I lowered my work out days to 4 days a week and that's been better on my stress levels but now I feel like it's not enough to develop my overall size & strength. Sighhh. It's hard finding a good balance between your work life, personal life, and gym life.

@IISocratesII

@@bazibaji38 I assume he means strict macro intake and calorie tracking (bodybuilding) vs not (generally powerlifting), i also assume the answer is it doesn't matter because the programs is still ultimately for increasing numbers in the long term (this program being more emphasis on high volume targeted hypertrophy work and then more specificity with a different program closer to her 'on' season) so basically do it lean, or do it dirty, that part is personal preference.

People still doing DB lat pullovers incorrectly (~7:33). Lay on the bench with your head hanging off, then reach back until the DB touches the floor while arching your back to get better extension. I was doing it with a barbell with plates ( 100# to 130#) when I was taught the movement 45 years ago.
@RobertWadlow292
@RobertWadlow292 5 жыл бұрын
I don't see the point of the exercise at all, really. It's a shorter range of motion for the lats compared to a chinup or cable pulldown. Unless it's supposed to target a certain area of the muscle better than other lat exercises do
