July 7, 2017 - Truro, Nova Scotia. If not for this Shell station and its free WiFi, this video may have never happened! This was the first time I experienced poor (er, non-existent) WiFi quality at a McDonald's location. Anyway...
While in Truro, I made sure to check out the nearby Bible Hill Estates, which I read was once a filming location for a season (or a few of them) of the Trailer Park Boys.
What I didn't realize was that they were still filming there for the current seasons (and the upcoming season 12!) - and they were filming at the time I actually drove through.
Open set, indeed! Decent!
I didn't see any of the cast but I did see some of the crew, I believe. I'm not sure if I would've been allowed to hang out, even if I knew it was the real deal at the time; I didn't find any of this out until speaking with a superfan in Halifax the following day!
I never watched the show until recently; once it was put on Netflix I caught up in a hurry and I love their ridiculous shennanigans. Now Ricky, Julian, and Bubbles have become Canadian - and global - icons. When you boil it all down, though, it's still 100% Nova Scotian, too.
