Wonderful news. Thank you! Love this pair! The double debuts of Ilyushkina and Korneev in Swan Lake was one of my favourite recent Mariinsky Swan Lakes. I think this pair is well suited. Ilyushkina is a beautiful St Petersburg ballerina, refined and graceful with wonderful lines. Love her! And also love the princely, elegant Korneev. (I said LOVE too many times but never mind!). CONGRATULATIONS to both!

If you saw the gala you could see that they were the only dancers of the purest classical style/ They deserve their victory

@@iskander21024 Unfortunately, they did not. Svinko, who deserved Grand Prix, was robbed by the jury who were blatantly supporting their favourites and downgrading their rivals. This is the reality, not an imagination. - “If you saw the gala …” - Your conclusion, unfortunately, is further mitigated by the fact that it was again the same jury who decided what everyone was supposed to be dancing at the gala.

Корнеев -- красивый и талантливый. Читаю комменты... То про ошибки, то про темп... Неправда. Общее впечатление от исполнения потрясающее. Эстетически наполненный артист. А неточности ...Во-первых артист не робот, а во-вторых -- потенциал есть. Корнееву браво !!

Негатив пишут люди, которые сами в жизни ничего не достигли и только и могут, что завидовать и злорадствовать. Я совершенно ничего не понимаю в тонкостях балета, но восхищаюсь трудолюбием этих артистов и получаю большое удовольствие, смотря на ютубе. В реальной жизни ни разу не была в театре балета.

Let's just say, the Moscow International Ballet Competition isn't what it used to be. Competent dancers... but no Baryshnikov or Nadezhda Pavlova.

@@iskander21024 It used to be the winners of the Moscow competition were guaranteed future stars... distinctive artists who really stood out from the crowd. Now... too often, I don't see that anymore. These aren't teenagers as in the YAGP... these are adult professionals and I don't find them especially memorable.

The music for most parts is unnecessarily slow. Especially in the adagio and variations, I think it really dragged the dancers down - made things look heavier and also more difficult for the dancers to execute than needed. Otherwise beautiful dancers - Maria is the embodiment of the classical ballet dancer.

Monstrously slow tempo is a bad habit among Russian Dancers, and it has spread to the rest of the world.

Agree: and it spoiled the thrill of movements like the simultaneous kneeling in the first part. The interpretation was curiously muted, too. Of course these dancers are beyond accomplished!
