The ryhtm guitarist with a red rose on her hair is Miku, the band founder. She barely could not play the guitar at the time this MV was shot in 2014. Her teacher is Kanami, the lead guitarist and genius composer who used to play the rythm tracks on her behalf during studio records. Now, 8 years later, Miku is a skilled rythm guitarist who can skilfully stand between Kanami, Misa the badass bassist and Akane the killer drummer. From Thrill to the last LP "Unseen World", a whole musical world has evolved for Band-Maid. By the way, don't be fooled by the kawai look of Miku dressed as Maid. This tough girl is a Poker ace and Horse race amateur.

This was also my first intro to Band Maid and it was Saiki's voice that drew me in instantly because of her power and depth and believe me she has proved to be absolutely perfect for a rock band, bringing it for 2 hour live sets and she has developed the swag and charisma needed to front a band. Choose me was used in ep3 season1 of Peacemaker, Choose Me and Blooming in the recent movie Kate, Different and Sense were written for Anime - Log Horizon and Platinum End respectively.

Avril Lavigne is a huge fan of the Japanese country also her sister Michelle is married to rock star Ryota Kohama, the bassist of famous J-rock band ONE OK ROCK.

As you work through their catalogue you will discover they integrate every genre of rock from ballads to hard rock (verging on metal), they can be groovy, funky, jazzy or bluesy. Influences run from 70's right up to current rock yet they always sound distinctly Band Maid. Everyone starts here but those in the know started here in 2014. ;) Band-Maid are excellent and are featured in the movie Kate,, but the rock and metal scene in Japan is alive and well and very, very big. Today's darlings are Nemophila, Hanabie, Arc Royal, Gacharic Spin, maybe even LOVEBITES again if they actually hire a bassist and Aldious if they can scrounge up vocalist number four. ;) There's maybe 100 others too! This rabbit hole is deep and most excellent. The difference between western and Japanese metal is the chord progression for the most part, other than that, they seem to just have a LOT more fun...

Excellent reaction! If you like the '80s you'll also love "Shake That" and "Don't Let Me Down". However, they also have 100 awesome songs that don't sound like the '80s.

You found our ladies! I recommend Real Existence Live version next! I know everybody else has probably said this but really...you ain't seen nothing yet - this was a long time ago and their skills have improved tenfold.

Try something newer and live and really get to experience the superb, high-level composition, musicianship and stage performance of one of the most exciting Rock bands I've seen in 50 years of enjoying Rock and Met6al. Mark, you don't have to be in Japan to be familiar with Band-Aid😂 Ricky, your guess was correct. They were 20-23 years old at the time of filming this MV which was about 8 years ago. This is one of the simplest song by them, and Miku (red rose) couldn't play her guitar at that time (watch the MV again to check it😉). Mincho (lead guitar) as her guitar teacher, Miku has practiced hard and became a reliable rhythm guitarist (you can see that in their more recent videos).
