Mark Henry has the highest squat, deadlift and total of any drug tested Powerlifter in history! That's an amazing achievement and may well make him the naturally strongest man in history.

I once heard that a tornado hit Mark's home time. Mark was in Philly at the time. He came in 5 hours later via plane and hit the tornado right back. His hometown never suffered a tornado attack again.

I went to high school with Mark and I have to tell you when he came back my Sr. year to visit his family before the Olympics and he was doing frontal squats with around 450 lbs as practice when a coach came over to talk to him. He stood there with that weight balanced on his chest holding it in place with one hand as h e talked to the guy for like 5 minutes before he reached out and straight armed it back onto the rack. He's a beast seriously.

even the great bill kazmaier says that mark Henry is the strongest man he has seen. dudes so awesome...he was able to bench 600 at high school..his bro Pat Henry is also very strong with a 580 lb bench press.. Mark's max bench is 760 lbs...natural strength...bcoz his uncle was 6.7 and 500 lbs and was the strongest man in the woods..

Got deep respect for his form on squats I was a pretty good squatter in the 110KG division of the USAPL. I averaged 270-280KG in meets on my best day I hit a 290KG/ 640lbs one. I know the strain that mark's feeling in this video. Even if you're strong (and I can still double a 550lbs attempt myself) the ligaments like knees and ankles are similar strength in everyone. The fact that Mark Henry is still healthy is a testiment to his great form and strict training of his muscles and Joints both.

January 31, 1981.[6] In this competition, Kazmaier officially became the first human to bench press 300 kg (661.4 lbs)[5] (raw) in an IPF-sanctioned meet* and recorded his lifetime best three-lift-total of 2425 lbs (1100 kg),[3][8] a powerlifting world record that remained unsurpassed for more than a decade.[6] His winning lifts were: a 925.9 lbs (420 kg) squat, the 661,4 lbs (300 kg) bench press and a 837.8 lbs (380 kg) deadlift

I wouldn't put him at the head of the pack right now, since he's clearly outstripped in the supertotal by at least Koklyaev or strongman events by Zavickas and others, but Mark Henry had about as good a claim as existed to being the "overall best strength athlete in the world" for a few years.

not only that but i know kazmaier ws a better powerlifter, 975lb deadlift, 662lb bench press, and although his squat isnt up to henry's, i think it was at similar or superior level than henry's because he did attempt 980, and although he didnt get it, you dont just attempt a weight you cant do, you know? Also that squat was past his prime i think, his prime (stronget year) was 1981, although, his best powerlifts werent in that year, i think he just took it easy in powerlifting that year.
