Cam sounded nervous. Mase don't fuck this up. They already have hip hop affiliates as unprofessional. Y'all created a new subgenre of sports show where you guys can not only talk about the games but the rumours on the athlete's personal lives. It's like if ESPN & Entertainment Tonight had a baby and became "It is what it is". I don't think Mase feels the same way because it wasn't his idea. Tighten Mase, you might not get an opportunity like this again.

I played basketball during this time for Gauchos. You don't know how good you are until you leave your neighborhood. I grew up in Edenwald Projects where I was considered an above average player for my age until I made Gauchos. It's a humbling experience. I actually played on the same Small Fry team as Cam. I still have my plaque. I used to be at Young Life games at Salem Church on the Corner of 126, 127th and Adam Clayton Powell. I remember the kid Marquise they are talking about. I remember Mase too, I'm from the Bronx so at that time Harlem was downtown to me. What a great time to be alive.

I’m from nyc, I been around thru both skip and Sebastian… skip was popular because and 1 mixtape, but he wasn’t Sebastian I’m not talking about skill wise, I’m talking about impact, culture and popularity… Sebastian was a superstar in nyc at 14yrs old, I never seen shit like that before at that time, he was signing autographs on the train going to school in 9th grade lol, he was on slam magazine, he was on sports illustrated magazine, he had jay z, Derek jeter and nyc politicians coming to watch him play in a high school gym… and 1 was like a street version of Harlem globetrotters without the script… Sebastian had lebron in Brooklyn playing in street tournaments and he had Melo out there, even tho melo from Brooklyn he was living in Baltimore at the time… he had cameras following him since he was 13 yrs old that’s how he made the documentary “through the fire” you had to be in nyc to understand this dudes popularity it was like the was the lil bow wow of basketball lol because he was so young but basically famous and still living in the projects in Coney Island, people know skip all around before the nba because and 1 mixtape dvd, same way with hot sauce and AO.. Sebastian became popular at 13 with no dvd or and 1. It’s a huge difference

Great Interview Killa‼️ Two legendary point guards outta NYC to set the record straight. Mark Jackson has always been a class act, great player in his day and even better person off the court. Rafer Alston aka "Skip to my Lou" was literally a breath of fresh in the late '90s!! Growing up in the south you always heard about the guards outta New York and to finally see that action live on tape was incredible @that time. Respect was paid to alot of great players in this episode!! Booger Smith and Charles Jones reference (Soul in the Hole) was definitely some great ball players and it was good to hear those names again man!! Much Luv and Respect 🤞🏿💪🏿🙏🏿💯💞🔥🔥🔥

Bringing together Mark Jackson and Skip is such an iconic moment in sports journalism and podcast history. It is What it is are the only ones who can pull this off. ESPN doesn't have the range to do this and it be executed with so much authenticity. One of the best episodes ever made.

It was truly an honor to play and witness NYC PSAL and Catholic HS Bball at Riverbank Park back in the 90’s. I remember being at all those games featuring Steph/Zack Marbury, Shamgod, Ron Artest, Lamar Odom, Felipe Lopez, Eric Barkley, Ed Cota, Kareem Reid, Scientific Mapp, Barnard Barrows, Speedy Claxton, Romel Lloyd, etc. Too many NYC greats to name. Great memories.💯💯✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾

PLEASE!!! MORE MARK JACKSON ON THIS SHOW!!!!! His low key sarcasm is hilarious!!!! 1 of the best PGs in the nba when he was still playing. His rookie year with the Knicks he was eating everybody up! And continue to only grow stronger as a floor general. Look at the work he put in in Indiana for example. Yes, they had some great stars on that team, but Marc was a humongous part of that teams turn from being a scrubby team into a legitimate Eastern conference contender.
