@@stella-vu8vh yes I do as a matter of fact. May seem odd to someone like you who thinks they understand how all humans on earth function. Not just in old pre-cellular videos do I sense it but in the major metropolis city where I live if I go to the outskirts where there are little to no towers I feel it too. I grew up pre-cell towers, there was wholeheartedly a calmer much less frenetic vibe to everything. I apologize for feeling something you dont understand tho, its my fault obviously.

After reading Mark's book and knwoing how much he hated Screaming Trees first lyrics I think he died when the guy told him "lyrically the album is not a lot different". lol
@jetcheneau5811 Жыл бұрын
MTV was not known for their artistic evaluations. While I don't think Lee Conner's lyrics were nearly as bad as Lanegan seemed to think, there's no question that even in Lanegan's infancy as an original songwriter, he blew Lee out of the water in terms of the sheer magnitude and memorable nature of his lyrics. Whiskey for the Holy Ghost was his attempt at a "masterpiece" record, and had Lanegan died in 1997 instead of going to rehab for the first time, that's likely what it would be viewed as today. Fortunately he lived another 25 great years and we got Bubblegum, Blues Funeral, Gargoyle and Somebody's Knocking. All of which I'd call masterpieces.

My dad (born in 1949) who lived through the musical revolutions in the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s, and beyond has frequently said to me for the last 30 years how he sometimes wishes he was my age (born 1975) so he could’ve been coming of age in the 90s…he just says that though he went through some of the most historically significant times in music and cultural history the 90s just seems to be different. Was this before or after Kurt and Kristen died? Because if this was only shortly after, it would definitely explain his passiveness. I know from his book that he never enjoyed doing promotional work though. Also, I don't get why people talk so shitty about him, I can clearly see that he'd had to be a pain in the ass for anyone that worked with him during his active addiction, but especially in later Interviews, I find him so refreshingly authentic, down to earth and self reflected.
